Our pets need quality pet food. Read the ingredients list and learn what the stuff on there is and what it does (or does not do) to/for our pets. A quick pet food 101. If the pet food contains corn/corn products or by products it is a poor quality food. Corn is a filler that can trigger skin problems. (allergies, skin problems, itching and excessive shedding) By products is anything from an animal not fit for human consumption, including cancerous tissue. Do not pay attention to advertising, they all say there food is great. "Vet approved" means they have a vet on staff to approve their product. In other words, someone paid to approve it. Same with foods most vets recommend. Salesmen "gift" vets then the vet recommends the food. Most vets are not nutritionalists! Quality foods have meat as the first ingredient. California Natural, Solid Gold, Innova and Merrick are a few of the best brands available. Every type of dog food that they sell in Grocery Stores or Retail Stores like Walmart, are pure garbage or what I call Road Kill. There are many higher quality foods out there, that will keep your dog much healthier. I feed my dogs Canidae All Life Stages. It is high quality, all natural, human grade, naturally preserved, has NO corn, wheat, soy, grain fractions, fillers, by products, preservatives or dyes in it. It is also made in the USA.

That is one of those questions that there is no "right" answer for, but if you do some research, you can find some really good ones that are still reasonably priced. I recommend a food that has chicken or lamb (preferably as chicken meal or lamb meal) as the first ingredient, NO corn, soy or wheat and no by-products. Other than that, there's a whole lot of room for controversy as to what's best and what's worst. Also, it depends on the size, breed, activity level, and age of your dog.

Google "Top 10 dog foods" you'll get a list of the top foods and why they are so good.

I feed my dogs Natural Choise Nutro, their skin and coat are super shiney and they are very healthy. Every dog is different you'll have to see which one your dogs like, but I know the stores here in WI let you return the food if you dog doesn't like it.

Woofy (your dog) prefers steak, hamburgers, chicken, pig, and pretty much any meat. Woofy says that you should leave the bones. Woofy knows that you are trying to give Woofy a celebration... Woofy doesn't want many doggie lovers, but wants a spouse instead. Listen to Woofy now or the next time someone tries to break into your house, Woofy ain't gonna help you.
