As usual, people are mistaking judgement for love. One doesn't cancel the other with God.

If the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, the flood, the killing of the children by the she bear, the beheading of John the Baptist, and all the other gory parts are examples of love, I'd truly not want to see how the Bible and Christianity defines hate.

Yeah, especially for us women!
FEEL the love! ;-)
PS.. I have read the bible many times (grew up on it!) and come to the conclusion I am not willing to tear myself to pieces to make a God happy that faults me for "bleeding"..
I mean, if women are so bad, and have to cleanse themselves for what is natural..why on earth were we made that way? It is hypocritical.
Or maybe by "Love one another", God means men only.
This is not a sexist thing. But it is quite obvious women are regarded as second-class citizens throughout the entire tome.

you know why it is that way is because the whole thing is a love letter from God. He is trying to show you that he has never forgot about you and that he loves you. Maybe you should try to accept that.

Because God is love....
But there is also salvation from sin through Jesus Christ in there as well.....
And that is the ultimate form of love

love is how you see it.
the flood: hey, the good people needed to be saved before the verdict was given.
S&G: they were responsible for some pretty bad things.
the she-bear: hey, Elisha was probably sensitive about his baldness
Egypt: satan worshippers, slave-drivers..... boom!
