I already know what anorexia does, how bad it is, I'm NOT anorexic, I want to know how LONG does it take for the weight to come off. Do you know?

Hi,

I have struggled with anorexia and bulimia for the last 7 years of my life. It started out as a simple diet, a quest to be healthy, and progressed to a hellish battle with eating disorders.

The rate in which the weight falls off depends on the severity of the eating disorder. For me, I started out at 140 pounds and dropped down to below 90 pounds in a little over 5 months.

As I said, though, it really depends on the severity of the disorder, the extremity of the behaviors, etc, but the end result is all the same. I've ruined my body because of my mind tainted and skewed with false perceptions of myself, and even though I've been in rehabilitation, it's a struggle I will be dealing with for the rest of my life.

I hope this has given you some insight.
Hyl

If you are considering becoming anorexic, DON'T. It seems like the easiest way to gain control of your weight and your life, but it isn't worth it. I am recovering from anorexia right now, I'm actually only two weeks into really eating healthy, and I want you to know that once you start, you can't stop. I was probably the same as you- I wanted to lose a couple pounds for the summer, tone up, look nice in a bikini. But once I started, I couldn't stop. I went from 125 pounds at 5'8' to only 105, and I was miserable the whole way.The only way you should loose weight is to eat lots of fruits, veggies, grains, and exercise consistently. To truly answer your question, it took me a month to drop about 15 pounds. But please don't start!!!!!!

Quickly. Very quickly. But the problem is, you're diseased if you have anorexia. You won't even SEE that the weight is coming off; you have such a distorted body image that you might even think you're gaining weight.

Exercise and eating right is a lot harder, but so much more rewarding. I know I sound like a cliche, but I cannot stress this enough.

Believe me, anorexia is NOT the way to go, no matter how great of an option it is,

Depends on the person them selves and how they starve them selves, some take years and others about 1 to 3 yrs
anorexia is a very serious condition that can lead to death or life long crippling health problems, Where your whole body is effected and long treatments are needed to stay alive
The kidneys, liver and all major organs can be effected

I am not sure that I should answer that question. Simply because it is different for everyone. It may take me one week to lose 4 lbs and it may take you one month. Why would you want to know the this question from that particular group? That's a little odd. It's all about the body and genetics.

When a person is anorexic, they stop eating and they don't get the right amount of nutrients in their body. So they aren't losing weight that is necessarily "fat". It depends how long you are not eating though.

Depends on how much weight comes off doesn't it? After an anorexic person loses all the fat she then starts losing muscle too.

you will lose more muscle than fat ending up with a higher body fat percentage then when you started. you may be lighter on the scale but in the end you will be fatter. starving the body is the exact opposite of what is needed to preserve muscle mass while decreasing the body fat percentage. starving the body has never worked for fat loss and it never will
