I have a fifteen yr old stepdaughter. I found out a 30 yr old married man, and freind of family bought alcohol for her and tried to get her drunk so he can make sexual advances. Should I murder him, report him to the police, call tell his wife, or do something else. What is the moral thing to do?

he is a pedophile. how long before he starts on younger girls. as a mother of an innocent 15 year old, i would kill him and do life for it, but this is how i feel. you should go to police and inform them of the offence, as for is wife, poor thing. she will find out what an evil person she is married to, when he is charged. and what if he has young kiddies? doesn't bare thinking about

Murder him, no, that would just get you sent away for life and then you wouldn't be there to help your daughter.

Report him to the police...I would say that is a moral imperative because you have knowledge that he is a criminal. Even worse, his crimes can hurt innocent children and I'd be hard pressed to think of anything more "moral" than protecting children from a threat.

Tell his wife...probably won't have much effect...but she'll know if you call the police.

Something else...perhaps...this depends on your own personal values. If the other person was a Christian, then I would follow the teachings of my faith and I would confront him personally. If he failed to repent of his sins I would take two or three other Christians and confront him again. Of course, I'd have already called the police so if he still didn't listen and repent, I would leave him in their hands. On the other hand, if this so-called friend wasn't a Christian, I'd leave him to the police from the get-go!

You should call the police, have them write a report and then he will be questioned about the incident hence his wife will find out that way. ALWAYS make the report in these kinds of situations.
Don't murder him, it's not worth giving up your freedom for.

File a complaint with the police - let THEM take care of telling his wife.

Besides, if you tell his wife first, then he has more time to find a good lawyer. If the police just show up at his door, he has less chance of finding someone who can help him skate by...

Report him to the police and file charges. In the New Testament Paul teaches that the civil authorities were ordained of God to punish the wicked.

I'd tell the police first, then his wife. In a situation as serious as this there isn't room for second chances...just be thankful nothing too horrible happened already

The legal thing to do is call the police. He is guilty of contributing to the deliquency of a minor.

The moral thing to do would be to confront him with his wife present to give him a chance to defend himself if it isn't true and to stop it from happening again if it is true.

I would do both.

the moral thing to do is protect your stepdaughter.

If you murder him, you have to stand trial. can't protect her while on trial, or, while in prison because this won't be a "get out of jail free" scenario.

report him to the police. Then let the state follow through.

Your only moral choice is to tell the police and let THEM investigate. They are trained to do so, you are not.

It's possible that you are WRONG about what you "found out". It's also possible that you RIGHT and he's done this before and OTHER victims deserve to see this democrat punished.

By killing him or telling his "wife", you would not only be immoral, you'd be stupid.
