as i would like to know what it is like to live there as i will be going in feb

Small world - I lived in Katoomba (about 10 minutes away) as an exchange student in high school, and I went to school in Wentworth Falls. I now live less than an hour away - loved the area so much I had to move here!

I can give you more specifics if you like, especially if you have more info about your plans here or where you will be living.

Generally, it's a beautiful place - some of the most stunning natural features you can imagine. Beautiful bushwalks that can take an hour or so or that can last for weeks if you want. Surrounded by national parks, so there is a lot of green. I'ts in the Blue Mountains, a large area/city comprised of small villages like Wentworth Falls - it's long and narrow, really, because it runs along the highway that crosses the mountains. Each village is not too big, but string them all together and it takes an hour and a half to drive from one end to the other.

Depending on where you're from, you may be very impressed with the public transportation. I was, but I came from a place with no public transport! There are trains into the centre of the city, they take less than two hours, so Sydney is an easy day trip from this area.

Wentworth Falls is a small town in the Blue Mountains on the main road to Katoomba. There are some delightful walks around there and if you like living near the bush, you will like it. In February it will be hot and there is the ever-present threat of bushfires.
