When U.S. commanders and U.S. soldiers pray before going out into the field of battle, they sometimes pray for victory in the battlefield and for safety of the troops.

When the enemies pray, he prays for the same thing against us.

Tell me, are we (The US and the enemy) praying to the same GOD?

If yes, then who does GOD favor, us or them?
If we pray to different GODS, then why not leave the humans out of it, and let the GODS square up and fight once and for all, and decide who is the better GOD.

It will certainly save millions of lives lost through conflict.

The ones who arrive on the scene with the best weapons, equipment and training will prevail. The Gods can stay home.

A soldier who thinks he is on the side of God is more likely to perform valiently in battle becasue he believes that he is fighting for the good and if he falls he will have died on Gods side.

Taken away from potential death most the soldiers are not praying. Most soldiers really are not hankering for a fight and the casue of their placement in whaterver hellhole they are sent to is beyond their control.

brilliant question. they pray to the same imaginary figure.
they are also attacking other countries and still praying, if they believe in God, when did he tell them to go and kill others? Paradoxic behavior.
soldiers don't have the freedom to do what they want and are under order from their officials, and are all brainwashed with the idea of fighting for GOD, which God or bible tells you go kill your enemy?!

You say to let the GODS square off & fight . Since there is, according to the Bible, only ONE TRUE GOD, that ONE TRUE GOD will judge some day everyone of those soldiers & their commanders.

no one is better than god, the problem is some people believe they are god and then we have these wars.
in the us we don't believe that people in these other countries should live and think the way we do, so we go and try to change them , they take offense to this(as they should) and fight back.
it is a never ending, and always uncalled for.
we say as Americans that everyone is entitled to their own beliefs, do you really think this is true? and if you do then explain why we are always trying to change others to believe as we do.

A healthy perspective.

Of course the members of both sides of the conflict will insist that "THEIR god os a FALSE god!" and keep right on with what they are doing.

maybe they are praying that they die well and show courage. not everybody is crying because he might die for his country or the freedom of others. god does not care which side wins it will serve his purpose no matter what the out come

We are not fighting over who is the better god. We are fighting criminals. Your belief system would determine what 'god' you worship. The Christian God is for truth and justice.

Perhaps they should pray
"May God's will be done'
