I've never had problems with tap water in Singapore, Thailand, or Malaysia.
However, I don't know how seasoned a traveller your stomach is, so I suggest you splash the cash and buy bottled water in order not to spoil your vacation.

Of the countries you named, only the water in Singapore is safe to drink. You will rarely find drinking fountains in these countries and even in the schools they will be tied into a filtering system. Bottled water is very cheap and available almost everywhere and almost all hotels will provide a couple of free bottles a day. I'm from the USA, and I drank bottled water there, too.

As a general rule of thumb I advise you NOT to drink tap water in these countries. Go to any convenience store and choose from the selection of bottled water they have there. It's cheap and safe.

No. You can safely bathe in the tap water, but don't drink it.
Dont jump into rivers and lakes for bathing.

The water is not safe. The local people drink it and die instantly.
Avoid all drinking water and breathing. Good question!
