As an atheist, we have to think logically, so we have to leave all options open, all conclusions are tentative.

When we die we believe there is nothing and so we will never truly know if we are right.

I think that that is the case with everyone since I think we all die the same, but either way, right now it's annoying.

There will never be any vindication.

To all the idiots who don't believe I'm an atheist...

how about this: Fvck God, Fvck Jesus, Hail Satan.

Believe me now?

True, but on the other hand, 100 years from now, everyone here will be dead and gone for good. Not a single person on this forum will still be here.

No matter how much these believers whine and lie and brag and strut around, in 100 years they'll have suffered exactly the same fate that the rest of us suffer.

Now, in the meantime, I'm well aware that I'll be gone in less than 100 years, and I'm living a life based on that fact. That may not be "vindication", but it's the best we've got, and I'm very pleased to be taking advantage of it.

Er, I did believe you before, but that "Hail Satan" thing is right out of the Christians' handbook. Now I think you're just pretending to be atheist.

You are right. None of us know what awaits after death. It is having faith to believe without knowing. Even though I have questions deep down inside (And I know that most Christians do or they wouldn't be human) I CHOOSE to believe. Belief just doesn't happen. Belief is a choice. Life after death? Maybe. I don't want to take a chance of going to hell if there is one. I have been given a choice by God (wether I can see him or not) that I can obey Him and live by His rules and go to heaven or go my own way and go to hell. I don't know about you, but I am not taking a chance. I CHOOSE life. I CHOOSE to obey God. I think it is idiotic for anyone to take a chance. What if there is life after death. If you are an atheist you are sunk. Many of you say, "Well I'll find out when I die" Well, my friend, when you die is too late. What is so hard about God's rules anyway? Love your neighbor, don't murder, don't screw the neighbors wife, don't drule over your neighbors belongings. I mean - What the? You are going to chance eternity because you can't see God? You are going to CHOOSE not to have belief of an afterlife. I am scared for you.

There is no god or jesus to fvck, no Satan to hail... so your atheism is questionable....

Further, I feel very vindicated by the lack of evidence, the behavior and actions of believers, and the current state of criminality in our predominantly Christian country right on up to our evangelical president....

Who needs vindication? When people looking for a heavenly reward die and there is no reward, they have lost out on a life of rational thought and wonderful experiences.

Living a life in the reality zone is more rewarding in the here and now.

While there is no ultimate, comprehensive validation (given the intrinsic human capacity to delude itself) there are small victories. Christian scripture says, "By their fruits you shall know them," and the fruits some theists produce are small, bitter and poisonous. But despite the lunacy that prevails in the world of human thought, it's not all about "winning", of defeating "enemies". Knowing the truth yourself is victory enough. And knowing friends who also know is even better.

even if there is a god i do not regret being an atheist
i dot care going to hell as long i die still standing for what i believe, and that the the jackass upstairs in sweet fuking haven can make my life wretched and miserable and send me for ever lasting torments in hell.
but he can never take my freedom to think as an individual.

I do not care if you are an atheist or not. I am walking with Jesus and I am happier than I could ever be. I hope one day you will find the same happiness.

"When we die we believe there is nothing and so we will never truly know if we are right."

But people of other religions are "right" to think there is some white guy in the sky kicking *** and taking names?

YOU must think logically and it only sucks for you. If I ever need religion, I'll turn to mother goose or something.

It must for you. Here's how I see it. When I die, if there's nothing like you say, I've lost nothing by believing that there is something. But when you die, if you see that there is something, then you've got EVERYTHING to lose by not believing.

Yea, that sucks for you. If you're leaving all options open, why not consider some fire insurance? I hope you find the truth.
