This is an interesting question, because it is a bit of a catch-22. If you say that homosexuals cannot change their behavior, then the implication is that people are basically wired to behave particular ways, and free-will flies out the window. On the other hand, if you say that they can change, then you are anti-gay. I suppose on the one hand it is arguable and believable that a homosexual could use religious faith as the conduit by which they are able to modify their behavior (though I'm inclined to believe that the mechanism is more psychological than divine); however, I do not see any reason for homosexuals to do this, as I don't think there is anything wrong with their behavior.

Yes, but it requires effort on our part as well. He is not a "push button" God that will make the temptation disappear at our request, though I'm sure that He can and probably has for some. The desire to resist the lust must come from within. He does make a way for those who try by breaking the power and bondage the sin has on them. If you accept the notion that you can't change, you won't. The prime motivation is our love for God, others and our self.

All things are possible true prayer if you believe in the power off prayer. With faith as small as a mustard seed you can move mountains. You will never be able to proof God because if you could it would not be by faith. And we are not allowed to put the Lord our God to the test,So simply believe and hang on to what is good.

No, they can't. It's biologically hard-wired.

I bet most gay people knew they were gay when they were very young, just like most heterosexual people know they like the opposite sex at a young age, too.

Religious folk who hold this line about praying the gay away are delusional and again goes to show you that religion blinds these people to observed evidence.

No, they can't. They can pray that God helps them to delude themselves into thinking that the gay went away, but that's it.

No, it doesn't mean God isn't listening/doesn't care. It means God is saying, "You don't have to pray this away. It's not a sin. It's how I made you. Go out and get yourself a cool girlfriend/boyfriend and stop listening to that ape Pat Robertson."

Just $19.99 and I show you how to pray the gay away!

I'm not being serious by the way.

God doesn't always remove our trials, sometimes he leaves us with a "thorn in the flesh", but provides the undeserved kindness to help us cope with problems and not give in to sin.
