I have seen a recipe for a cocktail with a sugar cube in a champagne flute with a measure of cognac and filled up with champers- I have both drinks but wonder if its worth mixing the 2?
Its for a celebration-or should I just take each drink separate ? I aint rich so this is about 80 quids worth of liquor!

Might as well use the best. Add a bit of bitters and you have a classic champagne cocktail - ever see the movie Casablanca? It seems to be a popular drink at "Rick's Cafe American'.

Classic Champagne Cocktail recipe

3 oz Champagne
1/3 oz cognac
2 dashes Angostura® bitters
1 tsp sugar

Soak one sugar cube in a champagne flute with angostura bitters. Add champagne and cognac. Squeeze in a twist of lemon and discard. Garnish with half a slice of orange.

14% (28 proof)
Serve in: Champagne Flute
