Being closed-minded and calling it faith is the essence of all religion.

I don't look at rejecting atheism as being any more close-minded as refusing to believe that the earth is flat or the moon landing was a hoax.
First, I think Christianity offers a better explanation as to why the universe is orderly, namely because an outside force imposes order on it vs. unaware, unwilled matter acts the way it does time after time again simply because it does. I don't think it's simply a matter of something that science hasn't explained, but is beyond the possibility of explanation.
Second, there are characteristics that we have, such as life, consciousness, intelligence, the capacity for love, a sense of morality, will, etc., that are totally absent for the physical matter from which, if naturalism is correct, we are entirely composed. I think a far more likely explanation is that we instead received these characteristics from another being that has them as well. Nor do I find the possibility that such characteristics, at least for consciousness, intelligence, and will, are merely illusory. If consciousness were illusory, then there must be some consciousness that is perceiving the illusion. If intelligence were illusory, then we would have no means to prove that it was. And if will were illusory, then trying to argue against it being real would be futile, because those who believed in it were destined to do so.

I am a deist so neither atheist nor Christian. And, you, Mr. Questioner are full of it.
Atheism and Christianity are both faiths. One has the faith without absolute proof that God exists; the other has the faith without absolute proof that God does not exist.
Your statement, "As an atheist I could give you a list of things that would disprove most everything I believe," is nonsense. You cannot disprove your faith nor can you prove it. You simply throw in this casual lie to disarm those who are not thinking because you have just accused them of being close-minded.
You are simply blowing smoke. Shame on you. Your methods are unfair and your question is simpy provocative and intended to insult Christians and incite arguments.

It depends on the question... If an athiest said that it was hot outside and it was 100 degrees than, yes, he/she's right, it's hot outside. But if it was a statement about God, probably not, he/she'd have to prove something to me that my faith in Him could not dispell. Good luck trying though.
And can I give you a list of things that disproved the Lord? No, but then why would I want to try to disprove something that I believe? The very thing that brings about love and peace?

i could, but i choose not to. That is almost like testing God, and thats a no-no. I could list for days to disprove everyone. The only the even that could convince me that Atheists claim to be right, is on Judgement Day, when Jesus tells me so. Sorry it wasnt the answer you were looking for. But until that day, I know I am right, and you know that you are right too....so until we all find out on the Final Day, Agree to Disagree
Have a Great Day!

Since I have a very personal relationship with God, and since He talks to me and me to Him every day of my life. Since I have seen miracles that defy human rationale, and have had great experiences of God's supernatural power working in and through me to touch the lives of others. Since I have cast out demons in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and have had the privilege of praying for and seeing people healed including myself and my son, and since I have had multitudes of specific answers to prayers that were offered to God and divulged to nobody else in the world. Since I have also had many more experiences than I care to relate in this limited forum that prove God over and over and over, it would be very superfluous for you to try to convince me He doesn't exist.
You have only your mortal intellect to work with and that is a shabby second rate mind compared to the infinite mind of the Lord. Since I have been taught by a mind far surpassing yours in intelligence, insight, wisdom and understanding it would be somewhat foolish of me to trust a mere human for knowledge that he doesn't have because he has never truly understood the concept of God as He really is.
Therefore you can ask any question from your limited perspective, and no matter how convincing it may seem to you it certainly won't cause me to doubt God. I have seen a lot of so-called arguments on here that fail to convince me of the atheist stance on anything from evolution to intellect being the God of the atheist.
For you to begin to understand where I am coming from you would first have to know God personally as I do. Since you don't believe He exists that would be a very difficult step for you to make. Therefore your list of what can disprove what you believe must include a right understanding of God which you will not accept. Your list is convenient to your arguments and nothing more until you set out to prove God is real or prove He is not real. The former requires faith - so does the latter. One is faith in human intellect and the other in God.
Your eternal destiny hangs in the balance. I certainly would not want to trust my eternal destiny to human logic alone.
EDIT: THE THUMBS DOWN SERVE TO PROVE THAT EVEN A CORRECT ANSWER ABOUT GOD NEVER WILL SATISFY THOSE WHOSE OPINION OVERRULES THEIR COMMON SENSE AND THE CONVICTION OF THEIR CONSCIENCE. God put the knowledge of Himself in every man so you are without excuse. Romans 1:19-20

Nice to see a question that asks them for a chance if they will let some one show them the truth. It's usuall them trying to show us the Bible believing that's all it will take to convert us!
