U cant do much their beside go down to the military base and party cause I used to live their!!

O, wow. Man, I didn't think I'd run across another person on here who lived in ABQ! (as I call it).
Man, I'm from Chicago. I can't wait to leave ABQ! because there literally is NOTHING of note to do here unless you like drinking, eating, having sex, and dodging the drunks freely roaming the street every friggin' moment of the day. It's sickening to me how pervasive the inebriation and lawlessness of its denizens is in this city. I go to work, there are drunks sitting in packs at my bus stop. I go to the convenience store, they're on every corner asking for change, getting belligerent if you don't have any or speak to them. Last thing you want to do is be out on a Friday night because if they're not out there accosting you, the ones driving will run you down. Did you know the DUI/DWI rate in this city is tremendously high? Hmm...
I could be a bit jaded (remember I'm from Chicago, passing through), but the nightclubs here aren't fabulous enough to warrant the price of cover and drinks, and/or the hassle you get from some of the folks who go to them. I'm a little older and more of a homebody, so I'm of the mind that it's better to socialize with friends at your or their home rather than taking your chances on the ABQ! nightlife, which isn't all that great.
It's your call. I mean, I'm sure there's something out there to enjoy, but I'm older and a little more discriminating about my downtime and how I spend it. ABQ! just doesn't offer me what I need in a "Friday night" to make it worth dressing up for.
For all those ABQ!ans out there who disagree, I'm willing to be proven wrong. I've been here 6 months and nothing's changed from what I described since I got here. I'm like the young lady asking the question---"where's the good, clean fun?"

albuuquerque to me, friday nights, it's a little scary. i was always looking over my shoulder. i just got beer and went back to the hotel.
