The administration unveiled a series of tough border control and employer enforcement measures designed to make up for security provisions that failed when Congress rejected a broad rewrite of the nation’s immigration laws in June. The plans were announced by Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff and Commerce Secretary Carlos M. Gutierrez.

The common theme is that nobody trusts the president on this issue. He has played his cards regarding amnesty and now even his most ardent supporters are rightfully distrust-full.

The really sad part is that many other politicians are even worse. Look at Kennedy - he promised no more amnesties after his 1986 amnesty. Now he tries to go around that lie by stating that these latest attempts are not amnesty because they include a small fine, or they "might" be required to pay 2 years out of 5 years of the taxes they owe. I'd like to get that tax deal!!

As a consevative I no longer trust George W. Bush to control the border. The troops in Iraiq sould be brought home and place on the border and lay constantine barbed and mines to stop the invasion of our United States. Its time to send all the illegal mexicans home.

This is all window dressing for a last ditch effort at one more run at amnesty before W leaves office. We all need to call our fearless leaders and asked why this not being done all along
