If you really are convinced that we Christians in R &S section are full of mythological falsehoods. Why is it that you who don't believe feel the need to defend your unbelief?
It seems to me if I said "the boogie man is gonna get ya" and you don't believe the boggie man, your best argument would be to ignore me, as you should have no fear of the boogie man. right?
However I have noticed many of you that say you have no faith, go out of your way to attack that which you do not believe. Are you fearful?
If you really don't believe in God, why debate? You see I do believe, and I must speak of such things as God would have me. But what is your obligation to your unblief?, do you really think that after we that have tasted the Heavenly Gift, can be swayed to unbelief? That you will change our minds?... we that have experienced the Majesty of God Almighty, by the quickening of The Holy Spirit?
I wonder why do you fear God that you don't believe?
any thoughts?

Ro 1:18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness,
Ro 1:19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.
Ro 1:20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
2Co 4:2 Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.
2Co 4:3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.
There are many more examples of the truth of Gods word played out here for you to see, 2000 year old words that in actuality reach back to before the foundation of the world.

I have long contended, and Scripture supports my contention, that atheist are in all out rebellion against God and Satan is their source of influence. They can "not" keep quiet for they know, as does Satan, that their days are numbered until they, like Satan, will appear before God and answer for their unbelief. In their hearts, they know there is a God.

You know the longer you keep saying such babble the more atheists like myself will not move from where we stand. You need to give it a rest for a while. Don't you get it we get the same line of BS redundantly here, at our homes, public places and settings. The more you push it the more we will ignore you and telling us we are afraid of what we do not believe had to be the dumbest thing you said. I don't believe in the boogie man that story works for kids. Scriptures? Are you serious oh man you might want to stop with using that most atheists have read and heard them all so using them does nothing.

If you really don't believe in God, why debate?
Ummm... why are you here then? You really think you're proving anything?
You see I do believe, and I must speak of such things as God would have me. But what is your obligation to your unblief?
No obligation- this is fun, and opens a creative window for a great deal of sarcastic humor- one of the best kinds (just below fart humor- top notch!)
, do you really think that after we that have tasted the Heavenly Gift, can be swayed to unbelief?
What heavenly gift? If there was a heavenly gift for us to taste there wouldn't BE atheists... if you're experiencing one, I encourage you to mail it to me- I'd certainly like a slice of that pie.
That you will change our minds?... we that have experienced the Majesty of God Almighty, by the quickening of The Holy Spirit?
No- you didn't. You convinced yourself that you did through wishful thinking. There's a difference... just a hint- I could have had a personal experience with Vishnu- who are you to tell me I'm wrong!?
I wonder why do you fear God that you don't believe?
I don't. He doesn't exist. I fear fundamentalists who push their views to the point where it affects MY lifestyle and MY choice to be what I want to be and live how I want to live. This is YOUR religion's doing! You don't see Hindus lined up to ban beef sales, do you?!!
Our problem is not so much with Christianity as it is with CHRISTIANS. YOU are the problem and your beliefs are the weapons.- We simply retaliate.
Your argument was shallow and uninformed- just pile on the scripture... it holds no meaning to those of us who know what it's there for.

I feel the need to defend my unbelief because I live in a country where the majority of the people do believe in your god. A great number of those people think that, simply because I do not have faith in the invisible (and in my mind, nonexistent), I am untrustworthy, un-American, foolish, immoral, an "amoral materialist", "given to criminal behavior", a "cultural elitist", a drug abuser, a "future-Muslim extremist", ignorant, arrogant, and that I "believe in nothing."
I have no choice, as a part of this most distrusted minority in America, to speak up and speak out, to raise my voice among the others so that we are represented and heard. This is my country, too. This is my world. I have every right to be here and to ensure that I do not allow these ridiculous and unfair accusations to circulate without a rebuttal. That is why I defend my unbelief.
It has nothing to do with fear in that which I do not believe. It has nothing to do with trying to "convert" you. It has everything to do with making sure that you, and people who believe as you do, know that atheists are just people, and that the intolerance is disgusting and totally unbefitting a people who tout themselves as being full of "love and forgiveness."
I have no use for, and am completely unaffected by threats of the wrath of a god, yours or otherwise.

What I'm defending is my right to have my own spiritual beliefs. Christians would take that away if you could. Don't lie, you totally would.
If you have the gall to tell people they don't have business speaking their mind in a public forum, then the truth is you don't think anyone should even have a different opinion.
And I like to answer questions from my own unique point of view (pagan Taoist) to those who have questions and would never have had these thoughts otherwise.
We do not fear that which does not exist.

Well, to be honest with you it isn't that I'm trying to defend my belief, it's that I'm trying to cure you of your illness. You don't realize that you're mentally sick. You've been convinced of invisible entities that grant your wishes and cure you ailments that you've been convinced you have. I know you believe this stuff, and you will until you get some help. I'm here for you. When you decide that you no longer want to be held by the chains of the people that shame you into giving them your money, I can teach you how to set yourself free. This is an honest effort to reach out to you. You can be sin free and worthy of being alive. You already are, you simply let certain ideas convince you that you aren't.
If you truly want to be set free, let me know. I can help you.
p.s. Just thought I'd let you know that the reason I didn't address the rest of your question is because it has no bearing on reality, and therefore isn't worth addressing. But the offer stands. I can help you, but only if you're willing.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:
Religion is a mental disease that must be wiped out. Especially since it is causing aeroplanes to fly into skyscrapers, creationism to be taught in science class, infringements on rights, and it is factoring far too much into the decision making processes of most electorates. We atheists are also affected by religion as we live on the same planet as you do (sadly). That is why we have to speak out.
If you were sitting in a room full of people saying "two added to two is five", would you not want to correct them?
We don't fear God. We fear brainwashed simpletons that have too much clout over everyday life....and it must stop.
Thank you for adding your additional details. It outlines even more what society has to fear from religious brainwashing. Using the Bible to back up the Bible is clearly the sign of a mind without logic.

Many atheists are going on what they consider to be a counter-offensive because there is just too much religion run amuck in the world today and it is causing much more bad than good.
There is a wonderful documentary by Richard Dawkins called "The God Delusion" if you really are curious about the other side of the argument.
There are many people in the world today ready to kill you and me because of some kind of "God" doctrine or idea of "God." For many atheists, the time has come to say "enough's enough!"
Sorry, but that's just my point of view. I think what the religious of the world are spreading is dangerous and divisive and I'm going to challenge it!

I'm a believer in God, but I don't understand. How you can tell atheists how to defend or not defend their beliefs? This argument of ignoring that which is different can apply to Christians as well. Since you are a believer, ignore the unbeliever. And why do you have to fear something not believe in it? This makes absolutely no sense.
As a believer these comments make me wince. Do Christians a favor and keep your thoughts and opinions private.

First,my primary reason I am here is boredom, health issues, can't get out much.Yes,I believe that theists become atheists.I have seen it many times.I haven't seen atheist turn theist, although you usually get the old routine "I was an Atheist and the I got Jesus"Referring to a time in their teens when they weren't anything, just teens. This does not constitute having been atheist.I fear your god not the slightest. No one attempts to teach "the boogieman theory"in school. If you are in court, you don't have to be told"If you lie,we are putting you in the closet with the boogieman"So,If I weren't on this computer, chances are your religion will make some attempt to intrude in my life. That is the very nature of your mission..to spread the "Gospel"Has anyone ever knocked on your door to hand you atheist literature?Be honest now.
Lastly, there are so many LIES told here by Christians, lies about our morality, lies about the US being a Christian nation, lies about what TOE says,Lies about the BB.Lies about, well, everything basically. It won't stand up to truth and facts. So now I ask you..What is it Christians fear about truth so much that they must resort to lies?
