then yours. Would it change how you see them?
Me personally no. To be honest I have no idea what most people in my life's religion is nor do I care. I was just wondering. I admit to being afraid that some of my "Friends" wouldn't be my friends if they new I was Pagan

Wow Mystine. So because I'm not Christian I have no vaules?
And the mental disorder comment was an insult for people who have real ones. Why don't YOU suffer one and see how you feel.

Unfortunatly some people are shallow like that. Personally, I don't care what a person's religious beliefs are, as long as they dont try to shove it down my throat, condemn me to hell, or try to convert me.. I am not sure what kind of friends you are talking about, wether it was someone you really liked and wanted to hook up with or just a friend, but either way, love and friendship should conquer all. I personally know some people that wont be friends with anyway outside of thier religion because, well i dont really know, i think it has something to do with the fact that if someone doesnt believe what they do then they must worship the devil or something and dont want to get sucked in..pretty stupid i know, but thats how some people are for some reason (who would think that something as peaceful as a religion would shun everyone who didnt think they way they did). Anyway, my advice would be to keep your beliefs to yourself, if someone asks tell them, but dont volunteer it. If they dislike you because of something like that then they shouldnt be in your life anyway,

Well, other than a close inner circle of Texas heathens scattered across the state, *everyone's* religion is something other than mine, lol.

Most of my non-heathen friends, and all of the closest ones, know I'm heathen, at least in a vague "likes Vikings and history and celebrates Yule instead of Xmas" kind of way . . . they range from Catholic to Baptist to Methodist to Orthodox to Covenant . . . well, this IS the Buybull Belt, after all, lol. I know a few non-religious people, a few vaguely pagan ones here, not many. But this is a predominantly Hispanic town, and Catholicism is often more cultural than religious, and has a lot of curandera stuff and folk traditions mixed in with it. Not as different as most would think.

If I find out someone's REAL religious---hellfire 'n brimstone, yew'll burn in hay-ull, fundyroller type religious---I tend to avoid them. It's . . . well, it's just hard to respect that. Too much personal history with the type.

It wouldn't change my views of a person if I found out that they had a different religion then me. Almost all of my friends have different religious belieds then me. I'm Pagan, and they're Christians. They don't really know that I'm Pagan, but still! The only way that it would change my opinion about them would be if they turned out to be like Mystine G!

Yes.
My beliefs are my values.
If someone has different values than I do, there is no way we are going to get along.
First and foremost, I believe in objective truth. If a person does not believe in that, I consider them to have a mental disorder. If they don't want the help for that mental disorder and believe that truth is relative and there is no right or wrong, there is no way we can have a relationship.

I do suffer from a mental disorder. It's called general anxiety disorder. The difference is, I recognize my problem and I am willing to second guess myself when I make decisions. Are my decisions objective, or based upon subjective emotions?
You should try the same restraint. Don't tell ME about suffering until you know what it's like having uncontrollable panic attacks that leave exhausted and convinced that you can't take one more minute of life.

I would like to say no, and that's mostly true. I am an atheist Jew and there aren't many people who fit that bill! So, I am friends with people of all different ilks. However, if I get to know someone and then find out they are a Scientologist or a bible thumper, I try to keep an open mind, but I think it does affect how I see them.

My wife and I have changed together. WHen I was younger and more close minded from my church conditioning I would not consider dating outside my religion. If I were to find myself to be single agian I would not care but a general agreement on an approach to life and ethics /morals/values needs to be met before a commitment is made.

I don't date outside my religion so therefore not a problem for me.

My son is pagan and I have known a lot of wonderful people that are pagan.

One of my friends in college wouldn't date me because I wasn't Christian.

That was a 2 years of chasing well spent.

Religion doesn't matter to me. My inner circle is full of different religions.

Yeah it'll change my opinion of them just like any other new information would about any other topic. This doesn't mean I won't ever speak to them again or I'll instantly hate them though lol.

to each their own. i can respect them as long as they respect me. i am not here to judge someone by what they believe. knowing they have different beliefs does not change how i feel, for there is more to a person than just their spiritual beliefs
