Well I used to do this for a living, tho I woked in a pit with a rolling try fot fluids.

The best way to do this is buy a $12 plastic tote , the kind that rolls under your bed that keeps extra blankets and such they work best, make sure it has no factory holes in it.

When the Jeep cools down lift the jeep, make sure the front is higher about 3" then the rear, unloosen the bolts just so that they can turn by finger, roll the tote under, loosen the front bolts, the ones close to the front, then loosen the bolts in the back out more, your trying to unloosen the rear bolts and the front bolts so that the trans fluid spils out the rear into the tote.

Once you get enough trans fluid out finger tight up 2 front and 2 rear and take the rest of the bolts out, then while laying on your back cup the pan with one hand and take the leat 4 bolts out, you will still have fluid in the pan, so do this knowing you must balance it untill the bolts are out and then once the pan is loose dump the rest out in the tote.

Now for that B&M drain plug. Its junk, dont use it. it requires you to screw together a nut inside the pan and one on the outside, if the inside bolt gets loose your screwed.

The way to do it is get a stainless steel bolt and nut. You will need a metric fine thred, lower profile nut. have a welder wel on the nut to the outside of the pan after haveing drilled a hole for it. get a Viton or Nitrile "O" ring place it over the bolt so it make a seal when screwed into the nut.

This is the best way to do it. You need a good welder to make sure you get a good seal.

Good Luck

I COMPLETELY understand your desire to not get drowned!!
There is no plug.
Ok, you can go to the auto parts store 1st, get them to order the drain plug installation kit from B&M. 2nd they will have a vacuum kit to do this, so does JC Whitney and others. This allows you to pull the fluid from the dipstick tube via a long tube or rubber hose. Brake bleeder vacuum kits can also do this, but slower due to volume of oil. You could make a vacuum kit using a large glass or plastic jar, long hoses and a vacuum cleaner. DO NOT CONNECT the vacuum cleaner to the oil directly..Had to say that.
After you once change the fluid and install the plug do remember that while now changing the fluid is easy, you need to change the filter each time.
Good Luck and glad that you recognize the importance of transmission maintenance. Will save you money in the long run.

I believe they do, but then again chrysler products past about 1997 are pieces of crap.

If it does not have a drain plug, you will have to remove the whole oil pan to drain the tranny, or use a transmission flush machine that ties into the tranny cooler lines.
