I personally think that it is the person reporting. You see, there is this danger lurking around Yahoo Answers sections like this one. People are banding together and reporting questions/answers for "fun." They report everything the don't like or that they disagree with. This must stop. Are you a concerned Yahoo Answers member? Then you should join in trying to stop the fight by joining: groups.yahoo.com/group/concerned_y_members If you do not want to help make Yahoo Answers a better place, simply do the opposite by abusing the report abuse button by clicking below this question.

When the question is offensively made: Such as those demeaning ones concerning races or sexual encounters with minors-I do not hesitate to report. Does that make me a troll or a concerned, responsible participant?
Weather or not a report made or a report received indicates a troll depends upon the content of the question and answers and what motives lead to an action.

Regarding Trolls, it depends on the context.

Some questioners ask a "Question" that they answer in the "Question" and they are typically just trying in a stupid fasion to get a point across - in this case the reportee is the troll.

When it's a real question - but is "politically Incorrect" or charged likewise - it is the reporter that is the troll.

If any change should be made it would be to remove the reporting system completely - let people speak freely.

The only time I have ever reported someone was because there answer was too nasty to ever repeat or even want to remember, foul mouthed child molester. That is all, otherwise, peace to all.

but I have a contact that got reported for asking why do the questions disappear sometimes, did someone get reported? no joke, they received a violation notice, so in essence you are correct.

Depends on the reason for the report.

To report someone you simply disagree with is an abomination.

Like ChosenbyGod, who reveled in having people deleted. Now we have Jenny Lyn who is working to do the very same thing.

I do troll alerts too, especially on 360.

A question back at ya; how come only members can read messages? If you make the group more open, I think you will get more members. Also wondering if your group has gotten any sort of response from Y!A so far.

No, because i have never seen it happen, though if give me some examples, then maybe. I dont want to be apart of anyones agenda....even yours, without knowing what i am doing. So, why where these people reported? Or why shouldnt they have been, in your opinion. And how would you know theirs a group of people doing this, is it a conspiracy?

LOL funny you should ask, I just found out what The word TROLL meant, and I would say its the person being Mean or just down right rude for no apparent reason... Either the reporter or reportee depending on who it fits..

My opinion only, does not reflect the opinions of yahoo or its representatives or affiliates... LOL

The only time I've done this is when I've seen a trend in a user's questions... AND if that trend violates the community rules as I understand them.

Yes I want those people to stop too. I think that people who report random answers should be deleted. It's obnoxious.
