Why isn't there a commandment written about it? Did God run out of rocks or lighting bolts? Did he get tired and give up after 10?

Where did GOD or JESUS say being gay was wrong?

I don't think GOD really cares who you chose as your mate. I think he's more concerned with how everyone treats one another.

Well, I suggest you ask G-D yourself for the first question. As to the second question, there are more pressing matters and reasons behind JUST having ten MAJOR commandments. And no, G-D didn't get tired or just "give up" after HE wrote the ten commandments, that's why there are literally over six hundred laws throughout the Old Testament. And lastly, the Old Testament holds the answer to homosexuality(a bad thing and against G-D's laws) for you. and yes, it's also in the New Testament too. I must apologies though, i can't remember off the top of my head which books, chapters and verses those are. AND before I forget: the Messiah not only said to "love every man as your brother", He also said to "love the sinner, yet hate the sin". In other words, be your friends friend, AND pray for him to stop sinning.

To all of the posters with their self-righteous attitudes about Steve Adam and whatnot....if you're so religious, maybe you should stick to one of the primary texts in the bible, which is judge not, lest ye be judged. Loving, in all forms, is a beautiful thing, and if you love someone of your same sex, more power to you. You have every right to be who you are without worrying about religious zealots telling you that you're wrong. The bible is quoted to suit the purposes of whatever screwed up ideology someone wants to "prove." If you believe in God, you know that God is Love. And love does not take only one form. There has always been homosexuality, and primary cases are those within the church. The Greeks, the Romans...Shakespeare--you figure all of them are in hell because they had sex with men? I think not. Posters...do not use religion to promote hate--that kind of religion nobody needs, and I, personally, as a Christian, am offended that you people think you have the last word on God's intentions. God is love. Period.

Lots of people will tell you Romans or Leviticus has the passages about men laying with men like women.

Personally, I'm Buddhist, "Live and let live" is a good philosophy. Nothing from the bible will suffice to me.

Hitler and George W. Bush have called themselves, "Christians". Mohandas Gandhi called himself, "Buddhist", so does the Dalai Lama.

Affiliations aside, I know which side I'm going on.

Even in the "Big 10" you can clearly see that, according to God, marriage is between a man and a woman.
Adultery, which is a HUGE no-no, means to have sex with another man's wife.
When God explains "covet" He doesn't say a word about not coveting another person's homosexual partner. Again, the word is "wife".
God gave to Moses a great many laws. Among them are laws about sexual behavior. Not "lying with" one's near kin, or one's spouse's near kin, for instance. And not lying with one who is of the same gender.
Jesus seemed to be quite sure that a man would leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife...He didn't seem to think that a man would cleave to another man, or that a woman would leave her parents for her lesbian lover...
I know that alot of people really really really want to believe that God did not actually say that homosexuality is a sin, but, honestly, He really really really did.
Believe me, other people would like to believe that some of their favorite things are not sinful. Can you imagine the excuses God is hearing about gluttony? But obesity has become a serious health problem in America...even among grammar school kids. Or how many rich "Christians" are struggling to get through the eye of the needle? Bottom line...God says "no"...and, that's the final answer. Having a tantrum about it is not going to change His mind.
No point in asking Him "But why??"
The answer is "Because I'm your Father, that's why!"
And that's that...

There is..thou shall not commit adultery...

there are many verses stating the wrong of such actions and the end result...a different wording was used during those times since present day language has a different meaning than words from the past...

It is a choice to sin... you are not born gay... God did not make you gay....

the deceiver and liar Satan is having a good chuckle over that one...

Of course being gay isn't against God.

If a gay person manipulates, abuses, or takes advanatge of somebody he/she supposedly loves, that's wrong -- just like with the non-gay people.

But the whole "God hates gays" thing is just something very ignorant, weak-faithed people make up to help themselves feel superior to somebody else and to get money in the collection plate.

I guess they never read that part in the bible about "bearing false witness"....

I'm a Catholic and there are some things in the church I just don't agree with. This is one of them. I honestly don't think God will SMITE you if you are gay. I don't even think it makes a difference what your preference is. You were born the way you are, and if you live your life as a good person, it shouldn't matter. It's not like God created homosexuals just so he could send them to hell. I think people should stop preaching that all of these things will happen, because in the end, no one knows exactly who God will take and who he will leave.
I hope this helps.

God has made His views clear in Scripture, both in the Old and New Testaments. The prohibition is not against being gay, but against carnal knowledge of someone of the same sex. In one extreme case, two cities which were a byword in gay practices were destroyed by fire and brimstone. http://www.keyway.ca/htm2002/sodom.htm

Watch these people stand behind God and their bibles, in an effort to mask hate, simply for double standards.

Neither God nor Jesus have ever come up with the idea of someone being so disgusting so they didn't even bother to include this topic on the 10 commandments.
