I have not heard it but I will be using it! I get the same looks when I say someone "lies like a rug".

Sounds like a mixture of two phrases. "Like a cat on a hot tin roof" & "Like water of a duck`s back". Are you sure you`re not getting mixed up?

Not heard that one - a couple of similar ones which my husband uses (East London area?) are "Like a rat up a drainpipe" and "Like Father Christmas sliding down a chimney wearing silk trousers"

nope,never heard of it! Where I live,every uses welsh words like "damn bach" or "del" lol,no one actually knows what they mean that i know,we just say it anyway!
