no. you get the tax write-off because its technically a 'monetary' donation to a charity. Not just because you give it away.

No because your friend is not a bonified charity. Additionally, if the value of the car is more than $12 k and you give it to your friend you will trigger a gift tax event.

No, you never get a deduction for a donation to an individual, even if you gave it to them through a recognized charity but designated that it go to the particular individual.
