First, I had two phone interviews with this company initially. On Tuesday, they flew me 570 miles for a face to face interview. I met with seven different people. I feel the CFO is the decision maker and he really liked me. He made a few comments such as, "would you consider a different position with us in addition to the one you applied for," "you had some really good questions," and "what date are you available?"

He also said he liked my education background (I am a CPA, blah, blah, blah). He said a decision would be made in one to three days. Today is day three and is the Friday before the weekend.

What do you think my chances are for a job offer? I met with others as well, but couldn't read them as closely. I met the two people I would be working with and felt like I really hit it off with them as well.

I am surprised by all the negative responses to my question. I really had a positive feeling about it, and was told 1-3 days was the decision making period. Today is the third day. Even if all goes well, I would anticipate an offer letter taking time to prepare, as well. I wasn't sure if they were going to fly me in either, and at the last minute, they emailed me about flying in with five days notice.

You might want to send thank you notes to those who interviewed you, explaining how interested and excited you are about the position. Even if you send them email. It's acknowledging their time and showing sincere interest in the position. Good Luck!

I would call whoever your contact is (be it an HR person or whomever) and ask the status of the position. Certainly, as the other folks pointed out to you, they may not have made the decision yet, but I'm of the belief that most decision-makers know who is their favorite is by the time the interviews end. What takes time is getting feedback from other people. I don't think it ever hurts to follow up a couple days after the interview (hopefully, you did send a thank-you note to the CFO for taking the time to meet with you and bring you to their office).

This sounds as if they were interviewing you for another job than what you applied for. Did you frown when you were asked that question. If your anwer is yes, then no you did not get the job.Mail them a thank you card for the interview.
I would give one week after mailing the card to make a follow-up.The copany may have filled the position,but the person may not work out."Never TRY to hit it off with them".Let them know you are a hard worker not a friend.

I think they didn't choose you. It's been a week. You are entitled to call back and find out what they did.
One of the classless things I find about employers is that rarely do they have the class to do the right thing an let people know the status of your efforts.
I really don't think you got it, but call back and find out the status. Good luck on your future interviews.

Decisions often take a little longer than predicted, but if you don't hear anything by about next Tuesday, it would be fair to call and ask if a decision has been made yet.

Depending upon the business's "busy-ness" (how pressured they were with other TIME RESTRAINTS) at that time, I would sit on pins and needles throughout the weekend.
%A quick base-touch with them later during this (Friday) afternoon would let them know that your intentions are still honest. - Your telephone call inquiring the status of your employment-opportunity and assuring your relocation arrangements will help them "settle a few issues" around their office for you.
Just try to not seem PUSHEY.......... merely encouraged.
"Pushyness" is a definite turn-off;
Eagerness is a turn-ON.
