I would hope that anyone who wants to use drugs would study up on Manson first. This guy started out with "innocent" things like marijuana (it really is NOT an innocent drug but so many think it is) and he slowly progressed to other things. He ended up causing himself permanent brain damage because of his actions and what you see on TV today is the result of his poor choices.

Many times people think they have control of their faculities whether they are drinking or using drugs. Have a friend video you sometime when you've been using and/or drinking. You may learn a lot about yourself and what drugs really do to you.

Even if you think you aren't damaging your brain, you are. There are some parts of your brain that will never recover from your abuse, even just an occasional drink or smoke, especially if you do any of this as a teenager when your brain is still forming.

Love yourself enough to stay clean.

Good question. Manson has made many totally outrageous claims over the past few decades. The question is: does he/did he believe what he says about himself? Does he believe he is innocent, as he has often claimed? Did his environment make him into who he was and what he did. I think a lot of the clues to his mental state are found during his trial in the early 1970s and his incarceration that followed - and continues to this day.

Charles Manson is a scuzzy, greasy, pathetic little man. There's really nothing complex about him. He's a complete and utter moron. I remember when he was being interviewed on television and the reporter asked him if he had some kind of a problem with women, and Charlie replied:

"I got no problem with women, long as they do what they're told and keep their mouths shut."

Can you imagine? Here's a guy with NOTHING being interviewed and taken seriously by the media because a few of his whacked-out followers dropped some acid and then proceeded to murder a bunch of people while Charlie sat in a tent somewhere pulling lice out of his beard.
The guy is a LOSER. A five-foot, ratty-looking, LOSER. Nothing deep about that.
