i'd say keep up with your studies, and do your best in school, behave....help around the house when you can, and keep your room in order.

treat others as you wish to be treated.

you know what your parents expect at home....

i hope you get the horse ! i think the reason your parents are asking you to be more responsible is because horses are a lot of work... if you have cold winters, you will have to haul water (if there's not a source in his shelter) a couple times a day and feed him every day as well... it's a big responsibility. horses need bathing and grooming too.

maybe you could do some reasearch on CARING FOR A HORSE on line for more information, so you're prepared too? you could read about it, and discuss what you learn with your parents...

that would be a form of "being responsible" too -- educating yourself about the animals and what they need to have a good life.

hugs

I'm a mom and my teenage daughter wants things all the time, but she doesn't show me that she's responsible and usually doesn't get them. What do I expect? Well, I expect her to do her chores without me having to remind her everyday. I expect her to help out around the house and with her younger brother, without a lot of whining and fussing. The one time that I did give into her was when she said that she wanted a pet. She actually prepared a schedule and a plan on how she was going to care for her pet. I gave in and she did do a good job,, if she started to slip, I just had to remind her of her plan.

Hi, just keep your room clean, do your chores, do clean up after meals, help with laundry, run the vacuum. That sort of thing. Have fun with your horse.:)
