Maybe he didn't want to say much because there were people near him at work.

He has new father anxiety, which is why he pulled back when you mentioned the BABY crib. This is a huge increased responsibility to him too, and you need to be as supportive of that as he is of you and the pregnancy. There is increasing recognition that a father’s depression and anxiety in the perinatal period can have serious consequences for his family, especially if they don't understand his anxieties. Have the two of you participated in baby care and birthing classes? Did they fully involve him? Make sure he knows fully what will be expected of him both in your relationship and from a baby care perspective after the baby is born. He may have also just realized that he is in a "no turning back" situation now. The baby has changed his responsibilities to himself, you, and the child. He may be putting himself under more pressure to perform at work as a result. When he gets home, ask him about his day. Find less intrusive ways to communicate with him at work, such as an email, and don't bother him at work unless it's really important. Let him initiate the contact during his workday, as he has time and mood to do so. Give him your support and love as he adjusts to his new roles and new responsibilities.

Sounds like something is bugging him. He wanted to let you know he's angry or upset about something. Did you guys have a fight recently or has he seemed off?
Maybe he's just getting really nervous about the baby coming? Does he have any other kids or is this his first? Maybe the topic of the baby got him in a bad mood because he's getting antsy?
Hopefully everything works out for you. Especially since there's a baby on the way

Maybe his boss or co-worker was near him and he didn't want to say it. Or he might be having a rough morning at work and he might be a little preoccupied or in a bad mood from it. Don't worry about it I'm sure he'll apologize later. :)

Please do not worry about it. He is at work and is probably really busy and has a lot of stuff on his mind related to work. His boss might have even been standing right next to him so he couldn't really say much.

There could be many reasons for that... he couldve been really busy, stressed, or maybe he was infront of his boss and maybe didnt want to say it back in front of him...? Maybe you did something that upset him and you dont even know..? There could be many reasons.

Well, maybe his boss was right there and he might get in trouble for taking personal calls, so he didn't make kiss noises to you when he hung up. Just ask him about it when he comes home, and don't stress about it.
Happy pushing....

I don't think that there is anything to worry about. He was probably just busy at work and had his mind on whatever he was doing at work.

It's probably because he was at work and phone calls of a personal nature are frowned upon unless it is urgent.

Wait till he gets home. Give him time to get settled at home after his long day at work and ask him if everything's OK. If there's anything wrong. God Bless!
