Seriously. Have you seen these shirts and hats? They're always so gawdy and tacky. They just look awful. I'm a NASCAR fan, but I wouldn't be caught dead in public wearing one of my drivers shirts. Loud logos and designs all over them. It's just ugly. Why don't retailers try to simplify the designs to sell more merchandise?

There are some out there that aren't so loud and tacky. I've got a plain red t-shirt with the number 9 logo on it, and that's it, and my brother has a Tony Stewart shirt that just has the 20 and Tony's signature on it.

I agree, though. I've seen A LOT of overly loud t-shirts with logos and things everywhere across them. I'd never wear them. Give me a simple fan shirt anyday.

I totally agree. I'm not a Junior fan but most of the shirts I see for him are nice and simple - no loud designs. I wish more driver's shirts were that way. I don't need my favorite driver's face splashed all over the front of me - and the back. Just a nice, small logo and name would be fine.

Listen to the cars - Are they loud????

Listen to the crown - Are they loud????

Look at the uniforms - Are they loud???

As someone above said, this is a "look at me" type of sport. Loud is in. Believe me, if you are wearing anything like that at a NASCAR race, nobody will eve n notice. In fact, if you don't, then they might notice.

Sorry, can't simplify the designs; they have to bring the car and the sponsors to mind. Just go with it and let you inner NASCAR self out. You will feel so much better.

Kind of the point isnt it? You support your favorite driver by wearing their logos and stuff, people are suppose to notice, aren't they?.Besides I'm a Jeff Gordon fan and with his colors,it's hard for me to have any sympathy for anyone else.As far as marketing these items Nascar is raking in the bucks,so they aren't changing anytime soon.Best thing about wearing Gordon shirts and jackets they match everything or is that nothing ? I haven't decided which of those two things are true.

There are some nice polos out there. I was going to get a DEI polo a while back before the merger that was black collared (sp?) with just the team numbers on it (1, 8, 15). Looked nice enough to wear to a casual event.

Not all of them are loud and crazy but there are a lot of them. It took me a while to find the right hat to buy.

You need to look around more, there are lots of tasteful things to choose from. Go to you fav drivers website or the team owners web site. The choice of t-shirts at a local sat nite track isn't much but There is some great stuff out there.

Take a good look at the racecars and then look back at the apparel. I'd bet the apparel suddenly does not look all that loud and tacky. This is a "Notice me!" sport and that goes for the fans too.
