That's funny you don't like that the first family had assumed bad things concerning your race but you assumed bad things about the "rednecks".

I'm Asian so I can tell you from my experience that Asian people, especially the older ones that just recently came here to this country are by far the most racist people I have ever met in my entire life. Of course, there are always exceptions but in general, they tend to be.
And not just against you as a black guy, but toward anybody. I'm lucky that parents are very Americanize and open minded, but I have seen many of my girlfriends who have to constantly fought with their parents over the guys they dated, black, white, hispanic, etc... even Asian guys that just not from the same country as they are from, or even Asian guys from the same country as they are form, but with a different religions.
I'm Vietnamese and I dated an Indian guy once, so in theory, we're both Asians, but his parents disapprove of me with a passion, because for one, I'm not Indian, and two, I'm not Muslim. I also once dated another Vietnamese guy and his parents tried everything they could to break us up because I'm not Catholic and I told them once I'm happy being a Buddhist and would never convert.
Discrimination is a b*tch, but they're out there among all races, all religions. We can try to change them but I doubt we'll succeed in our lifetime. Don't feel too bad, if it's true love, she will find a way to be with you, cause she know how to handle her parents better than you. If she doens't, then she might not want to be with you that much, and you don't want someone like that anyway. Sorry, and good luck.

Well i dont know about asains but white people arent all the KKK type. Yeah im a redneck thru and thru and i do dislike some things that are done by whites blacks and any other race but as long as your true to me i have no hard feelings. But i think asains may still be stuck in the old ways of when they were at home or the beleifs. I hope that helps you figure this out.

your experience was likely bad because people usually don't "go for" mixing races....
i think that traditions and ideas in each culture are usually very different, and there would be a lot of adjustments to make... it's true, we can learn to adjust and how to "fit in".
the huge issue here, i think, is the fact that parents believe their children are looking for a life partner, husband or wife. the children who'd come out of this sort of relationship might have a lot of difficulty growing up. it doesn't bother most children to make fun of others because they are of mixed ethnic background. kids (and adults) can be cruel sometimes.
i think that resulting children is the biggest issue here. i could be wrong.. i have been before! hugs and take care.

It depends, some asian families are welcoming but some aren't. The same can be said to every race.
