I make all my own travel plans online now.
I use a travel agent only when I'm wanting a travel package (like a cruise) or something like that.
I'm surprised that travel agencies remain in business, now that the travel sellers are selling directly to the end users online.

I used one a very long time ago (about 20 yrs) but not since. Unless you are planning a gigantic trip to places far away, you can do it all yourself on line these days.
If you are planning a honeymoon or some other special type of trip where a travel agent may be able to get some special things for you because of his contacts at a particular place, you may want to use one.
For most trips, especially within the United States (including Hawaii and Alaska) you will probably do no worse cost wise than with an agent, and in many cases may actually save money.
Wherever you are going, I hope you have a great time.

I only use travel agents when my plans are complicated, I'm looking for a specific tour or suggestions for what to see, or I think I can get a discount by buying a package deal. Otherwise, it's just as easy to do the work myself if I don't mind investing several hours into it.

the web area is crammed with providers which will make it an extremely complicated activity to discover the bargains. What we actually want is probably a deal supervisor for us so as that we don't could do the hardwork of scouring the whole www for bargains. yet for now your terrific guess would be cost assessment web content like kayak, stay sparkling of, mobissimo and so on. which will dig out fares from countless on line brokers saving you priceless time in looking all those adult adult males in my view. the different selection is to look up airline web content to work out in the event that they have any modern specials. United and American launch particular bargains (the two relatives besides as international) each Wednesday. satisfied finding :-) If i are available the process any good gadget that does the artwork for then you will shop all and sundry published on that too cheers

Yes, I use. To the specific destination, there's one agency that offers better deals than other travel agencies. It doesn't matter of the distance as long as I get the cheapest fare possible.
I've used different travel agencies so far. But if I got money on my Visa debit card, I'd make my plans online, that is, if it goes through. :) Haven't tried yet.

I made my trip to Miami on Expedia.com. I then took every thing to a local travel agent and told her if she could get me a better price, I'd get it through her. She looked, but was actually amazed at the price I had. I went with Expedia and had no problems at all : )

sometimes its easy on line to book travel, and then sometimes its a huge amount of searching, comparing, ect
i think its good to have a travel agent near you IF you feel like they are fair to you and helping you.
then if you want to actually TALK to a PERSON about your trip plans, its not ON line, or some person in another country (on a bank of phones)

I don't use a travel agent. I do most of it on line, its so easy, and most of the time you can find good rates for airfare and hotels because your cutting out the middle man.

Nowadays the old brick and mortar travel agencies are giving way to the click and order society that exists today. I don't see how brick and mortar agencies stay in business.
I book my travel online at www.4playtravel.com
(where I earn the commission instead of somebody like expedia or priceline putting it in their pocket) The site is powered by travelocity. If you want to learn how to earn commission on your travel, contact me.
