it's unhealthy and uncomfortable to hold it. but i got caught doing it at work for the first time in years. now i'm embarressed

You're right, it is uncomfortable and unhealthy to hold it! So don't worry about it, nothing inappropriate about it... most people work pretty long hours, it'd be very hard to hold it all day long!

Yes it is appropriate to poop at work. I don't like to do it but I make sure that I clean up after myself. I spray air freshener and will flush in the middle to eliminate the smell. We also have a solution that you put in the toilet and it eliminates the odor really well.

Yes its uncomfortable to keep gas in and it should be expelled, but appropriately in the restroom if possible. But if you absolutely have to get rid of it and can't make it to the restroom, maybe buy some room spray freshener like Oust or Febreeze and keep it in the desk drawer.

Nothing to be embarrassed about. You're right, it is unhealthy to hold it. Everyone else does it too. Maybe they too have been "caught". Oh well, that's just life. Don't worry about it.

When nature calls, nature calls. I do believe that is one of the functions of the restroom. Unless you deficated in the middle of your workplace instead of the restroom than that would be an no.

Don't be! It's fine just as long as you're not pooping under your desk! That's what bathroooms are for! EVERYONE POOPS --AT HOME, AT WORK, WHENEVER NATURE CALLS.
