Call your state unemployment agency today, and get the paperwok going for unemployment benefits immediately! Others have good suggestions, but you have been paying in with your taxes to fund unemployment benefits, now you need to cash in on those benefits, so that you have some sort of income to bridge the gap until your next job! Good luck!

If your job was terminated because business was slowing down, I wouldn't call it fired, I'd call it laid off.
Parts of the job market can be pretty tough right now. Apply for unemployment - whether you are eligible will depend on how much you worked in the last 15 months or so - and get started looking for a new job.
Good luck. Being laid off twice in a year doesn't necessarily mean you are doing something wrong - maybe you've just been in the wrong place at the wrong time - that can happen to a lot of people these days.

First, I am so sorry - it's tough to be fired. It sounds like you were fired for reasons that did not have to do with your job performance though, so that is good. If this is right, secure a letter of recommendation from your former boss/company. This can be very helpful in securing a new job.
I agree with the others - file for unemployment immediately. It takes several weeks to receive your 1st unemployment check and even then, it will much smaller than what you are used to living on.
Next, update your resume and hit the pavement hard in search of a job. Cut out all non-essentials and buy only what you absolutely need. Try to buy the cheapest of everything too - even if you are used to buying the name brand, etc. Did you receive severance pay? If so, be very tight with it and you should make it until you land your next job. Good luck!!

What was your previous job? What did you do for the architect?
If you can be pretty objective about yourself, ask yourself if the two losses are related to you as a worker. Do you miss a lot of work? Are you a complainer? Do you not accept responsibility? If any of these are "yes," then you need to work on your professional skills. If not, brainstorm--what are your skills, how else could they be applied, are you willing to do fast food work to keep money coming in while you're looking for other, more meaningful work? What are your hobbies and recreational interests? Can those become paths to a new job. A dated, but excellent, book, What Color is Your Parachute? can help you discover the answers. To work on the personal skills, ask your friends to point out to you at the moment it happens, that you're complaining or not accepting responsibility. Those two traits are very common, and when it's pointed out to you, you will say "Yes, but blah blah blah" No fair playing "Yes,but". Thank your friends for helping you grow. It is scary losing jobs, but it's even scarier to not know yourself.

I agree with Blicka to a point. When you have notice the market is slowing down and you got fired, try going into a different line of work, go back to trade school as a backup plan.

Sorry this has happened. Well I think Blicka has the right course of action. Take the weekend to think of your options, try to relax and start your game plan on Monday. Google Jobs in your state and see what comes up. Monster and Careerbuilder are good websites to check for jobs, hotjobs too. Put your updated resume out there on them and if you see a position posted apply or call about it. And in the meantime, go file for unemployment.

Cut down all nonessential expenditures. No eating out, no alcohol, nothing but rent, basic food, and hopefully, you have some emergency cash for this.
Take the weekend to make your job search plan/buff up your resume and start hitting up job boards and your contacts on Monday.
Hope you have a good weekend!
