Light emitting polymers are currently being manufactured in the form of organic light emitting diodes (OLEDS) and organic field effect transistors (OFETS). These OLEDS and OFETS are used to produce visual displays. They are very practical. OFETS have a smaller switching speed than silicon based FETS, but when the human eye can only measure speeds at 20ms, then having a high switching speed silicon based FET is not needed. OFETS have the benefits of being used in flexible large-display designs and are low-cost. You should start seeing a lot more TV displays and bill-board displays with OLEDS in the next few years. There is already a billion dollar fabrication industry working solely on developing organic based devices.

The moon would not emit mild or warmth. The moon, purely like Earth, gets all of it's mild and warmth from the sunlight. the sunshine reflecting off of the moon could make a small volume of warmth. with the aid of fact the moon has no environment, it can't catch the warmth the way Earth does, making it chilly.

LEPs have been demonstrated in the 'lab', and they are very close to becoming practical.

EDIT: they are currently being used in inkjet printer heads and other applications where a small matrix of PLEDs is needed.
