whenever i am laying in bed,he will jump up next to me and he will bite on my sweatpants around where my shins are and just tug and tug at it until i have to get him off, if im wearing shorts then he knows not to bite my leg because it would obviously hurt me, then what is his fascination with biting pants?

your sweat pants are his favorite *toy* right now your smells are on it obviously the *sweat* and he is attracted to the smell.

I have a cat who likes to chew plastic.. and she went through a phase where she would sit on the back of the sofa and bite my hair (she was 6-7 years old at the time - so its not always kitten behavior)
if the cat was declawed they often become biters so this might be part of the reason - otherwise they just like the feel of it in their mouth or its a fun habit for them

Hi. I think you cat is just "playing tug-a-war" with you for your attention and certainly not trying to hurt you as some have suggested to you. I'm sure you know that cats are not mean..... They also "nest" anywhere they feel cozy and maybe he just likes your sweatpants because he too feels they are comfortable.

Is he a kitten? If so, it's probably a phase. We had one that had a fascination with folded socks. She would jump on the dresser, open the top drawer, grab a pair of socks, and trot off with them in her mouth. I think the soft feel of them in her mouth pleased her, as if she had caught some sort of small animal.

umm.. i think ur cat is retarted... also cats when hunting will try to bite the neck of an animal to instantly kill it and make the hunting easier... she might be playing with ur foot and consider the ankle the "neck".. (also, dont wear sweatpants)

Isn'e it obvious!!! he wants you to stop being lazy and get up and play with him!!!! As for not biting when you have shorts on, that just shows that he loves you to much to hurt you over it!!!

my cat carries socks downstairs. one time i came home and there were socks all over the living room floor and i left like five minutes later and came back and all the socks were back upstairs.
