kk im 17 and i see girls on the bus, train etc,,,, that take a liking to me (not to sound big headed). Only problem, is that I am awful at guessing ages.

Example, i saw a girl today on the bus, she looked about 15-16 but her mates looked slightly younger.

I sat on the bus three places in front them. The oldest one (i believe), moved away from her friends and sat in between them and me (the seat behind me), as soon as I sat down.

She kept looking at me, so obviously liked me!

She was really attractive but i would feel embarrassed, if i asked for her number, only to realize she was only 14, when i believed she was 16 lol.

Im 17 and i would probably go as low as 15 (if she looked older than her age).

Any help?

Well I don't think you can tell by appearances, but if you get to talking you could always ask what grade they were going into.

It can be hard to tell age. We probably all struggle with that. There's so many things to make you look younger and older nowadays that you can't trust who they hang out with or even how they talk sometimes. And just because that girl was staring at you the whole time on the bus, it didn't necessarily mean she liked you! You might have just looked like someone she knew or maybe your hair was a mess or something. If every girl who looks at you in public will give you the impression that they like you then I'm sure you'd have infinite crushes. Learn to not be so self-conscious.

Damn you've caught us! LOL only joking....
Yep you're right, it's how old their MATES look an an average, because more than one mate might be on the pull aswell.....you have to look at them as a group.....would three 14 year olds hang out with three 17 year olds?

You can also tell by the amount of eyeliner they are wearing....or by their phone ringtone, or how they speak............ if they are all giggly, they are younger than 16

Start talking to her...ask about school, what year shes in etc etc anything that will give you her age...

Or, just ask in conversation!

It is unlikely that a older girl would hang out with a group of girls younger than her at that age, so she probably is older looking...

Good luck!

I know this is kinda funny but..

breast size and stomach size.

If they are skinny with small boobs... they are young.

As they get older, their boobs progressively get bigger along with their stomachs (beer consumption).

It is easy to spot an upperclassman in college compared to a freshman. You get the idea.

But there is no problem in TALKING to a 14 year old as a 17 year old. Then very casually try to find out her name. Don't simply ask it.. just hint at it. For example, maybe ask what grade she is in.. or say something like.. yeah I just got my liscense.. when do you get your permit? Or say something like.. man... geometry was tough.. i hated that class. if you find out she is 14 then forget it... you don't have to date her just because you talked to her.

Now a days, girls seem a bit older because of their clothing and exessive amount of makeup. But It wouldn't hurt to just ask a girl for her age.

just ask her! lol teenage girls don't mind that at all. as long as you say your age first. people ask me all the time, but in a subtle way. (usually by "guessing". but always guess older than you would expect..that can come off as offensive if you guess too young lol)

Start talking to her and ask her how old she is. If she's too young, you've just had a nice conversation. If she's in your age range, then you can decide to ask her for her number.

The only way to be sure is to look at her ID of some sort.

Don't let a person's face fool you.

The way they act really tells about their age.
But that doesn't help at times.
The best way would just be to ask.
Yes it embarrassing but hey, it helps.
