The other day I accidentally..shoved a quetip in my ear, and it caused alot of pain. It went away, but now, two days later, I seem to have more pain in that ear and it seems to be spreading. Should I worry? Or what should I do to help it?

Of course you can. If you push it too far or continuously use a Q-tip you can damage the membranes of your ear and be susceptible to ear infection (otitis media/externa)
I recommend that you do not use any more Q-tips for a week and my mother likes to pour some baby oil in her ears when she Q-tips her ears too hard and it hurts.
You should worry if the pain persists to more than one week

From what i've heard they do damage your ear because all they do is push on the inside and doesnt help much. I had a teacher back in high school that was cleaning on ears with a quetip and she pushes soo hard that her ear started bleeding and she heard a high pitch sound and from the pictures, she looked in a serious amount of pain.

A quetip can damage the ear and drum ,it can perforate the drum. It sounds like you din`t do this in this case as it went away within 2days .But you seem to have developed an infection ,so go see a doctor as ear infections can lead to hearing loss

"Cleaning the ear canal

Cotton swabs are primarly sold and used for the sole purpose cleaning one's ears. This, however, is not recommended by professionals because it could cause infection. Another reason being that it may in fact cause the Ear wax to become compacted inside the ear or cotton can detach from the neck of the swab, impairing hearing, or permanently damaging the eardrum. In reaction to this problem, certain brands sell safety cotton swabs with bulging cotton ends to prevent them to enter too deep into small body orifices."

Yes, you can damage delicate tissue in your ear as well as break the eardrum.
If you are still having pain, you should go to your doc and have a pro look at it. It may be not serious or it may be.
(Unless you can look into your own ear and diagnose the problem).

Yes, you have to be very careful with qtips. They are really only supposed to be used to clean the outer ear. Your doctor will tell you that the inner ear is likea self cleaning machine. It really does not need to be penetrated unless there is a problem..ie. buildup of wax..etc. I would go to the doctor and at least have him check it out

It probably cause irritation and then an infection, you will need medicateed ear drops, go to your family doctor. You can readup on inner or middle ear infections to see if you recognize symptoms. But dont worry, it is very common, especially to us people who enjoy using q-tips

Yes you absolutely can. You may have injured your ear drum. Thats why the instructions say DO NOT place in ear canal.

You need to see a dr. and have it looked at.
