i'm glad around here they made a law regarding that. a lot of tv stations are running names and photos of people who "forget" or "leaved the kid for 5 minutes".

Hi Brooklyn

As a mom I can tell you that not once, never did I forget that any of my children were in the car. I find this offensive that any parent, no matter how much is on their mind, forget that their child is in the car. When I hear of these instances, I feel sick, and I become very disturbed that anyone would intentionally or unintentionally leave a child in the car.

They need to wake up and realize their responsibilities are the caregivers and parents of this little person who is solely 100% dependent upon you to keep them safe. You know this going into becoming a parent, how can you "just forget" them in a car like a bag of groceries?

I am completely disquisted by the whole thing.

Be safe and be well.
J xx (im back)

I live in London, Ontario Canada. We have the same problem across Canada. The most recent story had the police breaking a window in the car to get to the kids. If some people had to take parenting tests they would fail. Temperatures aside these people are idiots. I wouldn't leave my children, or grandchildren alone in a car even if I was dropping something off at a friends house and we were parked in the driveway.

I also agree I could never "forget" my baby was in the car with me, I can understand being tired and all that but come on now. I went to HomeDepot yesterday here it was about 100 degrees outside I parked beside a car with two little girls playing in the back seat with the car not started so no air, and the windows were barely cracked in the back. I couldn't believe it so I went up to the front and descibed the car and license plate so they could call the parents to go get the children. It's really a sad site to see.

I live in the Charleston area where the mother left her 2 kids in the car last week while she worked because she "couldn't find a sitter" and my question was, where were the people who walked by this car ALL DAY and saw these children in the car. We all know toddlers and young children do not sit still for hours on end. Someone had to have seen them jumping on the seats and hollering. Or, were they drugged or dead before she put them in the car that morning? Unbelievable.

I don't understand why people do it. They are little human beings... not baggage. If you have to run into the store for 5 minutes, take them with you. It only takes a second for someone to steal your child. It only takes a second for a door to open and your child to wander out on his/her own. It only takes a second for another driver to lose control of a vehicle in a parking lot. The health of a child is at stake, since a car's temperature can rise to over 100 degrees in less than 20 minutes. It's not worth the risk.

I left my kids in the car once. We were on the way to the movies and i stopped at this corner store to get a paper. I was in there 30 seconds and nothing happend but for about a month after i just kept getting these flashes of something bad happening to them. Its something i will never do again.

It is sad. I was at the store a while back and I saw this little boy, probably about 3, strapped into his car seat. No one was in the car with him, and the windows were all the way down. Anyone could have taken him. How do you forget about your kids in the car, and then let them die from the heat? I never forget my son is in the car with me.

Some parents treat their children with less care then they show their pets, not just in Florida but all states. It's like I have had this kid and if it dies, well I'll have another.

Put them in a hot car for hours. Maybe others will get the message.
