Drink some cranberry juice that is supposed to be really good for a bladder infection!

But you really should go to the GP and get some antibiotics to begin fighting the infection right away, they can't stop all the symptoms right away. If you have a lot of pain, your health care provider may recommend a medication to relieve the pain in your bladder, This medicine will clear up the painful symptoms in about 3 days, although it will usually make you much more comfortable within hours. It's important to take the antibiotics until the prescription is finished. Many people stop taking the medication when they begin to feel better, but that doesn't allow the antibiotics to completely kill the bacteria, which increases the risk that the infection will reappear. If you ever develop a rash from an antibiotic or have difficulty breathing, STOP taking it immediately and call the health care provider who prescribed the medication! For some infections, you may only have to take antibiotics for 3 days, but usually you'll be on medication for 7 to 14 days.

It's important to drink lots of water during and after treatment because each time you urinate, the bladder cleanses itself a little bit more. Cranberry juice also has been shown to have positive effects on UTIs. DON'T use the kind of juice that says "Juice Cocktail" on the label. That has too much sugar and is not concentrated enough with cranberries. Make sure the cranberry juice is 100% juice, many brands are now 100% cranberry. Quality cranberry juice produces hippuric acid in the urine which acidifies the urine and prevents bacteria from sticking to the walls of the bladder. If pure cranberry juice is not available, cranberry capsules can be substituted. They can be found in most health food stores. Always take these with a large glass of water.

Vitamin C may also be recommended for you to take. If you get help right away, a UTI should completely clear up within 10 days to 2 weeks. You may be advised to avoid sexual intercourse until the symptoms have been gone for 2 weeks, which allows the inflammation to disappear completely.

What is a bladder infection?
The symptoms of Overactive Bladder are often misunderstood to be the same as a bladder infection. The truth is that while there are some similarities in the symptoms of these two conditions, they are quite different.
A bladder infection, also called a urinary tract infection or UTI, can infect any part of the urinary tract, and occurs when bacteria gets into the bladder and multiplies in the urine.

Overactive Bladder is the loss of bladder control and the ability to control urination. It's a common medical condition that affects more than 34 million Americans, including 1 in 5 adults over the age of 40, and nearly twice as many women as men. The symptoms of Overactive Bladder include urinary urgency, urinary frequency, and urinary incontinence (leakage).

What are bladder infection symptoms?
A bladder infection causes inflammation of the bladder and urethra. Bladder infection symptoms usually include one or more of the following:
The need to urinate more than usual, often passing small amounts of urine

A sudden need to urinate

Pain, burning, or other discomfort during urination

The need to urinate at night

Pain in the lower abdomen

Urine that is cloudy, has an unpleasant odor, or has an unusually strong smell

Some of the symptoms of a bladder infection are similar to the symptoms of Overactive Bladder, such as strong, sudden urges, frequent bathroom trips, and incontinence. ENABLEX is not indicated for treating bladder infections or the symptoms of bladder infections.

How do you treat a bladder infection?
If you think you're experiencing some of the symptoms of a bladder infection, speak with your doctor immediately. A bladder infection will not go away without treatment, so the sooner you begin treatment, the sooner you can start feeling better. Bladder infections are usually treated with antibiotics and other medications. ENABLEX is not indicated for treating bladder infections or the symptoms of bladder infections.

Sorry, you have to go to the Dr. All they are going to do is do a urine test. Don't worry. The worst part may be that they might take a blood test.

You need to be put on antibiotics right away. Bladder infection can lead into a serious condition and then you might end up in the hospital! So which would you rather do, get maybe one little prick now, or later with several pricks. Needles I'm talking about.
In the meantime, drink lots of cranberry juice.

I have had several bladder/urinary tract infections. What you've described sounds like that's what you have. I had to be put on antibiotics every time. You should definitely go to the doctor because not getting it taken care of can lead to other problems like a kidney infection. Trust me, you do NOT want that to happen. All they will do at the doctor's office is have you pee in a cup and then test it for bacteria. If it's positive, they will give you antibiotics to take for about the next 10-14 days. It's simple and easy if you catch it early enough. After it's all completely gone, I recommend taking a Cranberry pill (found in the vitamin aisle at drug stores) everyday. They keep the pH down in your urine and you shouldn't get anymore infections or at least they will be MUCH less frequent/painful. Good luck! :c)

When I was younger I had a bladder infection, and it hurt even when ever I didnt go to the bathroom and I had to get surgery. It doesnt have to do with how well you eat, it has to do with how healthy your bladder is. I got an infection because I was born with my bladder above where it was supposed to be. Your infection doesnt sound as bad, but I would get it checked out.

I also hate the doctor but you have to go with a problem like this. If an infection is left untreated in the bladder it can spread to the Kidneys and that will require a hospital stay...That is way worse than a doctor visit. All they will do is make you pee in a cup and see if there is any white blood cells in it. If there is...they give you an antibiotic and send you on your way. Not that bad....Good luck...

Don't worry I used to get bladder infections quite frequently. This is what I always did and it really helped. First of all drink lots and lots of cranberry juice and water. I didn't like cranberry juice but I'm talking drink at least 4. 8oz glasses a day and lots of water. I also took that azo stuff that turns your pee like bright orange. that helps a little but i would also take ibprofen for the pain! hope this helps

Bladder infections cannot be diagnosed on line. A urine specimen is necessary to determine if there is bacteria in your urinary tract. Urgency and burning are typical symptoms related to urinary tract infections. Health practitioners need to diagnose the problem before you treat it.

It would be best for you to stay at home and let the infection spread throughout your body. Then you can keep us updated every day on what part of your body falls off. Or you could see a doctor, get a few pills and stick around because we like you!!
