i n the summer i run 5-9 mi 3 times a week and do a speed workout on tuesdays. during the XC season i run 7-9 mi 3-4 times a week, a speed workout on tuesday, a hill workout on thursday and a 5K race on saturday. during the winter i run 4-5mi 4-5 times a week plus swim practice. during the track season i run 3-5 mi 2-4 times a week. 1-2 speed workouts and 1-2 races a week.
I also cross train with either biking, basketball, or many other sports. yes all my running is done at once. no breaks =)
as a HS junoir. i train hard so i can be as good as i am. #2 varsity runner with a 17:23 5K in XC. #2 1600 with a 4:46, and i also run the 3200 and 800 in track. If you don't do much running or don't like to work extremely hard don't use my schedule.

Well When im doing hard training for big events, which is about 10 out of the 12 months of the year than i run 2 miles in the morning, before school, then swim practice for 2 hours, then 2 miles after swim practice, and then on saturdays, a good fast 7 mile run and on sundays, a 25 mile bike, and during the week i throw in some weights. So i would say that i average about 4-7 miles a day, depending on how im feeling, and about 25 mile weeks. But if your wondering how much i run, so you can see how much to run than i would say start out running about 2 miles a day, all at once, about 5 times a week.
Hope this helps.

Most days 2 miles all at once. Some of those days it ends up being 2 miles and then 1 more in the evening if the weather is nice, if I get a chance and someone's willing to watch the baby. When I get better and more free time (ha! ~ jog stroller wishlist coming soon, maybe) I will do 5 miles each day.
Peace.

If you're just starting to run, you are going to want to run around 2 miles a day in under 20 minutes. Thats a good start.
