Why does the water in a bottle bubble up if you don't open it after a while?

This will only happen when the air tempeture around the bottle is sufficient to warm the water to the point where the water wants to become vapor and thus expands slightly as does steam. It will not happen in cool weathter

because the water molecules expand as the water comes closer to room temperature making room for bubbles on the container
