Mormons are everywhere.

plus side: cute prairie dresses, sensible shoes, and being prepared for armaggedeon.

down side: garments can be hot, lots of pot-lucks, and needing to be married with children to get to the celestial kingdom (heaven).

I did! If you would like to know more please go to www.lds.org or www.mormon.org. There are many answers to your questions. I feel the advantages are that no matter where you are the classes are based on the same information. It is very consistant. For example if on Sunday I am studying Acts chapers 1-5 then you are also in Australia! I also like the fact that we have no paid clergy. We are also very service based, so its not only up to the Bishop to help members, every member helps.

The disadvantages are that people think it is a cult or that we aren't Christian. There is still a lot of persecution out there. We are Christian!

Good Luck!

Jazmine - It is an interesting religion, and though others call us a Cult, in the sense of the word - every religion is a cult - but there are a lot of advantages.
First and foremost though - IF you choose to join the Church, be sure it is something that YOU want, and that you are doing it for the reason that you feel it is true.

Go to this link and input your city, and you'll find a location near you. Also on this site you can navigate to find the information for the local young men and women who are called as missionaries to Australia, and how to find them.
If you have any questions that you'd like answered, feel free to email me, and I'll do what I can to get answers for you.
May you find what you truly seek.
Just remember that ultimately it is your choice, it doesn't matter what anyone else says.
I know God lives, that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. I believe that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever - meaning that what He did once -i.e. calling prophets -- He will do again in our days.

Well, I can see that there are plenty of people on here who are telling you not to become a "Mormon" btw, the name of the church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mormon is a nickname. That said, visit the church's website: www.lds.org, or www.mormon.org.

Both of these sites provide our basic beliefs. I would start with www.mormon.org first. There you will learn the basics of what we believe.

And, no, we are not a sex cult. I have one husband, he has one wife and we have three children together. We have been married for nearly seven years and there are no other potential mates. You won't become a multiple wife of a God with his own planet or any of the other nonsense others are sharing.

I would encourage you to evaluate why you would want to join the church. I consider my religion more of a lifestyle than simply something to do for awhile. I don't mean to discourage, and hope you find the happiness that you are looking for, whether it be in the LDS church or not!

Please don't rely on what I or others have said in answer to your question. Find out for yourself what is right for you. Have a great day!

dont listen to any of those comments that are putting down mormons b/c mormons are great people. but you need to find some missionaries and start taking uh like classes kinda on the beliefs of the church and stuff.i think if you want to try it then you should go for it. you need to pray to god and ask him sincerely if this is what he wants you to do. good luck.

properly a pair of concepts - confusion isn't reliable. you should no longer do something in case you're perplexed or once you're feeling forced to try this. it is lots too significant a decision to no longer have it have each thing to do which includes your decision, decision and testimony that something is real with the aid of fact God has revealed that to you, and you on my own. whether it somewhat is for the different reason than that then you definately are no longer waiting for my area. on the different hand in case you have that testimony yet nonetheless desire to attend then i think of you should no longer and it ought to easily be the customary jitters and doubts that preceed this manner of enormous adventure (like chilly ft till now you get married!). Missionaries comprehend that there is an significant time for the duration of someone's conversion the place they are specifically situations lost in the event that they don't get baptized and settle directly to attend such as you're pondering. without the present of the HOly Ghost that one gets at baptism and the fellowship, callings, instantaneous whirlwind that encompasses you once you replace right into a member - specifically situations every person is lost to the returned floor and that is complicated to regain that floor returned. a reliable piece of suggestion I as quickly as heard given to a pal who became into in this comparable place became into from a clever chief became into that many times we would desire to take that "bounce of religion" and as quickly as we gain this, each thing falls into place. If we don't - specifically situations we are invariably in that gray area of doubt, uncertainty and discouragement. somewhat praying and asking GOD to settle on or assist you agree on is the appropriate line of concept however - so turn it over to Him and you'd be in reliable hands.

Are you converting for spiritual reasons or just for trying it out and see if you like it? Because you are entering a very close knitted church...they strongly believe in their faith and you have to be baptized in order to part of their church....

It's a church that was found and based on teachings and history left on some golden plates buried somewhere in NY by Mormon through a vision to Joseph Smith when he was 14 yrs old...They are always trying to convert people into their church...they do believe in Jesus Christ, but the fundamentals of their church is basically today....Jesus Christ's church of the latter days....that's why it's called LDS... half of my family have been converted in to it..but not me...I don't believe in some of their teachings...and they rely too much on their mormon bible for their teachings...as it's written in the bible there is only one word.. and the bible is the only word of GOD...nothing else...no other book....

All those people who say that mormons are a cult and have more than one wife, are dumb!!!

There are two books in the church, listen to this,

8. We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly, we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
- Eighth Article of Faith
You should join the church, we believe in only having one spouse, and no sex until after marrige, we also believe that men and women are equals, and that you should not curse no matter who you are!!!
If you want to know more E - mail me and go to www.mormon.org or www.lds.org.
We are Christians and believe in the three members of the godhead, Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and The Holy Ghost!
1. We believe in God the eternal father and in his son Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost!

All those people on the T.V. who say that they are Mormons or LDS, and have more than one wife, or have sex before marrige are most definatly NOT LDS, or Mormons!!!

1 WE believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
2 We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's transgression.
3 We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
4 We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
5 We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.
6 We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.
7 We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
8 We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
9 We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.
10 We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.
11 We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.
12 We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
13 We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

First you'll need to understand that the LDS or Mormon Church is a false sex cult. Founded in the 1820's and 1830's by Joseph Smith, a sex addict from up state New York. He wanted to figure out a way to have sex with all the teenagers in town without getting hung for statutory rape.

So he invented the Mormon Church which taught that men should have many wives.

Now he could tell the parents of all these teenagers that God wanted him to marry their daughters and that was the start of the Mormon church.

Mormons follow a different Jesus than the one from the Bible.

The Biblical Jesus is God's only begotten Son, but the Mormon Jesus is the brother of Satan.

There are 200 denominations of Mormons in the USA and only the largest 2 have banned polygamy.

Mormons also teach that women remain in the grave until some man calls you out of the grave.

So if you want to share you husband with other women and when you die spend forever in hell, by all means become a Mormon.

When Smith died he had over 30 wives and eleven of them were teenagers.

Or would you rather learn the truth about the real God and the real Jesus?
