According to my vet, corn ingredient in dog food has also benefits for dogs and also wheat and soy. I tried Purina hipro to my choco lab since 8months old until now 1.5yrs old but he did well and it makes him hyper with that 27% protein and 15% fat.

Vets are wonderful and I've owrked with/for them for over 30 years, however when it comes to foods & nutrition they aren't the best source of info. Most vets have not studies species specific nutrition & feeding..they only have general studies which covers everything from cats to rats, dogs to hogs...corn, wheat and soy are NOT good ingredients for dogs..they are high on the allergen list, aren't easily digested and soy causes excess gas. These ingredients are really no more then cheap fillers. It takes up to 3 times more of the foods that contain these ingredients (in the top 5 ingredients) for a dog to get proper nutrition then it does of a good quality meat based (meat as at least the first 2-3 ingredients) food.

****dogs are NOT omnivores..they ARE carnivores..yes they can survive on grains & veggies (so can cats and they are obligate carnivores) but it doesn't mean it is the healthiest choice for them..people can survive on McDonalds, and a six pack daily too but that doesn't mean it's good for them.*****

Vets are not the best people to ask about nutrition. They know very little and only go by what the dog food reps. tell them.
I don't feed my Golden's food with all those things in it. It's just fillers and nothing more. Add's 0 nutritional value and only makes the dogs poop more and bigger.
I get Canidae all life stages. I have been feeding this to my Golden's for quite some time now and I have seen a great difference in coat and teeth and their over all health.
It contains 24% protein and very little fat. I don't need big plump Golden's at all. Plus with this food because it is so high in nutrition for the dogs they eat less which makes poop clean up a lot less too.

Some other brands that do not contain those things are Wellness and Innova, Timber Wolf, Solid Gold and a few others. You can find these food at the better pet stores.

Corn, gluten and soy is perfectly fine for MOST humans. Dogs I dont know!! What ppl need to get educated about IS gluten is a normal protein found in wheat, rye and barley. The only ppl who need to avoid it would be those with an allergy, intolerance or Celiac Disease. I would follow your vets advice or go to the website of the vet association (whatever the one similar to the AMA is for animals!)
Dogs have been eating all that stuff for thousands of years. Iti s the POISON gluten taht is the problem!!

corn, wheat and soy are some of the ingredients that dogs have allergies to.As far as 27% protein wow the dog must have the"zoomies" I'd stick to the super premium dog foods available at the local pet supply store.

There is nothing wrong with 'some fillers'. Take all the fiber out of your diet and see what happens. You will probably find that you need to take out stock in Ex-Lax.
The problem arises when there is to much fillers at the expense of other important but more expensive ingredients.
The good news is that a dog is a true omnivore and will at least survive regardless of what it is fed. The bad news is it might not be as healthy as it should be.
Just remember that not all protean sources are equal, and protean is worthless if the dog can not metabolize it.

Sorry, your vet is NOT up on canine nutrition. Actually, corn, wheat and soy are items that should not be eaten by either dogs OR people.

Dogs have NO nutritional need for carbohydrates.
