I hate to exercise but I know that I must. So for all you health experts could I walk on the treadmill 15 minutes then later on walk another 15 then another 10 here and there until it equals an hour? Or would that be useless?

You need to keep your heart rate up for at least 20 minutes each day all at the same time. Little spurts of 10 minutes will not be as effective in burning calories. Just starting out that is ok but to build it up over a few weeks is better. the recommended is 20-30 minutes 5 times a week of aerobic exercise. That means to keep your heart rate up.

No exercise is useless! It has been said to benefit your cardiovascular health that your increased heart rate needs to be maintained for at least 30 minutes at a time but exercise every chance you get and you will benefit by increasing your metabolism, burning extra calories and increasing neurotransmitters in you brain (happy chemicals!)

Sure you can but the health benefits you get from that is different from going a full straight hour.

It won't be useless, per se, because you're burning some calories.

If you can fit this in in your lifestyle, that's more important.

I'd say yes, but any excercise is good. One would use the treadmill for cardio, and cardio is only effective if you sustain an increased heartrate for at least 20 minutes.

Try to go longer at a time...

well im not an expert but ive heard thats good to do bc whether you walk one hour or an hour broken up you will still burn all the calories but each time you do it you keep bringing up your metabolism! but ive found ellipticals burn more calories and they just seem more fun to me!
