Okay I know this is an odd question but I need to gain weight for my wedding. I have been super skinny my whole life. I actually used to get made fun of in middle school for it. I come from a long line of Puerto Rican women who are very tall and skinny and my dad is super tall and lean. I'm about 5'7.5'' and weigh 104lbs and pretty much an A cup...now I get a lot of "you must not eat"s and thats about the opposite of me! I eat whatever I want, I work at a desk where I sit and eat, I dont work out...I'm this way because I was born this way! Now my problem is when I went to try on my dress (size 4) it fit fine around my waist but when I took a pic of myself in it...it just doesnt look right. I need to find something that will help me gain about 10lbs for my wedding that WONT go straight to my tummy and tighs. Something that will distribute evenly...can anyone give me any ideas? My wedding is not for anouther year (08/08/08) so I have plenty of time any advice? Thanks!!!

Also...a lot of ppl are saying that I should just eat a lot of junk and cake...I'm gratefull for your help but honestly I eat fast food atleast three times a day, my midnight snack is my favorite part of the day and I'm a chocolate and cookie freak!!! So I eat way too many calories than what you would think I could and not gain weight...I dont get it either but I need something a bit...stronger?

Im a lot like you, I ordered the smallest dress and still needed it taken in. I think youre better off getting the dress altered to your real body shape than trying to gain weight in the "right areas" because that will never happen.

Why didn't you just buy a smaller dress??? Get your dress altered to fit. Purposefully eating junk to gain weight is stupid. Eating unhealthily and not exercising is a great way to get sick. And by the way, even if you stay skinny, eating all of that junk is STILL bad for you. Take it from me - I've always been the kind who could eat McDonalds whenever I want and not gain weight. Now, at age 24 and 115 pounds, I found out I have high cholesterol. Suddenly, I'm realizing that not getting fat doesn't mean that junk food isn't hurting me. Eat healthy and take your dress to a seamstress.

Don't fight nature - I have a husband like you - no, he's not 104 lbs, but is tall and lean, and eats like a horse. Just has a great metabolism. I mean, you can try to eat more protein and dairy, but definitely don't go with junk, because that will end up in the wrong places on your body.
Maybe the solution is going to a good seamstress who can help alter the dress or add something - a sash, or lace, or something - so you will feel better about how you look in it.

I think you need to make an appointment with your doctor and talk about this. He could run some blood tests to rule out any medical problems such as thyroid disorder.
Eating lots of junk food isn't the way to go. You still need to eat pretty healthy but just increase your portion size. I also suggest working out to tone up. That way the weight you gain will go on as nice lean muscle..not just fat. Also, you can't point to the areas you want the weight to go..it will collect where it wants to. Another good reason to start exercising. I know all of this sounds like a recipe for losing weight but this advice came from my doctor..he wants me to also gain some weight. I'm underweight and have been having problems with low blood iron.

nothing can guarantee that any weight gain is distributed evenly. that all depends on your body. some women gain in their hips and thighs, others in the breasts or stomachs. that has nothing to do with the type of food you eat. why not just get the dress altered to fit. i have a friend who is exactly like you. she is oddly thin even though she doesn't workout and eats junk all the time. well, she's only 25 and ended up hospitalized for high cholesterol and kidney stones. this is a result of her unhealthy lifestyle. (she doesn't drink alcohol or smoke). just because you are thin, doesn't mean you should assume you are healthy. focus on being healthy, not forcing your body into gaining or losing more weight than is natural for you. have the dress altered, not your body.

My mother was extremely skinny when she got married and they could not tailor her dress small enough. Her seamstress told her to eat LOTS of bananas. I know it sounds strange, but they're packed with protein, which will turn into fat if not worked off. Hence why guys that work out a lot eat a lot of protein ;) Honestly, I don't think the answer is to become more lazy and more unhealthy - regardless of how skinny you may be, that's not a healthy thing to do to your body. Good luck!

Maybe you should just embrace the weight that you are and have your dress altered to fit. The lifestyle that you are leading is very unhealthy regardless of how much you weigh. When was the last time you had bloodwork done? Eating fast food 3 times a week can kill you.

This may sound crazy, but drink Slim Fast. I had a really slender build and in order to gain weight I dank a slim fast with every meal. It's just about like eating two meals at once. The other benefit is that you don't have to know all the body builder supplement jargon. Just buy some Slim Fast and drink it with every meal.

I would recommend looking into gaining muscle instead of gaining weight. Hit your local gym and check out some strength-building classes, like pilates. You might also want to try meeting with a trainer once or twice to get a lifting routine going. You want to put on healthy weight, not fat! From there, load your diet with plenty of good carbs and protein.

My sister and 5 cousins are the same way ( I missed out on this one) My one cousin, to gain some weight, started drinking whole milk instead of 2 %, and said that it helped her. I know that sounds strange, but it really made a difference!
