I doubt that just a few licks will cause diarrhea. Most cats are lactose intolerant but not all of them are. If they drink milk they should drink goat milk or specially formulated milk for cats but I doubt a few licks will hurt her.

No I really don't think so. My daughter gives her cats a treat sometimes and lets them lick the bowl from her cereal. No problem. She gave them a little ice cream also. Not to much though. It sounds like you have a big cat also. My daughters cat is about 9 lbs. I call them dogs instead of cats.
My daughter Becky just e-mailed me about the quetion on the worms and the cats. She asked the vet at the zoo and the vet said that even if there was a worm or an egg on the shoes you were wearing the day you went to the shelter, it not likely that the cats could get worms this way. I hope this settles you mind. The vet said that if you are worried about it you can buy deworming products over the counter to give the cat. It is very safe to give it and it will not hurt the cat even if it does not have worms. Hope you get this answer because I lost the original question.

Sometimes going into a new home/area tickles there stomachs and causes diarrhea. Tuna and wet food should be kept maybe for small amounts once a day. Until the Diarrhea has stopped. Dry food and Plenty of water will do. Sometimes Tuna is to harsh on the stomach (Depending on the cat) But if she/he go's outdoors a lot she/he could have eaten something like cockroach or a nasty bug that can cause Diarrhea. Keep an eye on him/her and make sure s/he doesn't get dehydrated/bloody stool/blotchy eyes/puss around eye area/Extreme mood behavior change. Sometimes If a cat Go's Hyper it can mean there is something wrong and also if it gets very weak and tired. Most of trust yourself, You of all people will know if there is something wrong. If you get that feeling take him/her to the vet. Bet safe than sorry. Hope s/he feels better soon.

Yes it can. Many cats are naturally lactose intolerant and ANY milk can cause diarrhea. Just like people, some cats are more sensitive than others. Some may be able to drink milk all the time with no diarrhea, others cannot tolerate even one lick. Yours may be one of those.

No. And more than likely, she wouldn't get it from drinking the entire bowl.
