Homosexuality has always been a sin

Take a look at Sodem and Gomorrah.........that's a bt far removed from " modern translations"

Besides, you just said yourself from Leviticus 18:22 that gay sex is condemned.
What in the world do you think homosexuality is??

Let me offer you some unsolicited advice.....Do not join any debate teams

Granting your argument that the scripture in Leviticus is only to the point of sexual intercourse, still Christ said that those who even look with lust commit the sin, so.... it does not pardon the act. In the same way Christ said that hating someone is the same as committing murder. Christ did not relax the laws, if anything he made them more strict. The laws of Moses are rather very "basic" and are only restricted on an "outward" sense. By that I mean murder is forbidden, but thinking of murder is not. Stealing is wrong, but wanting to steal is not forbidden. Greed is not forbidden. Christ makes it clear that merely following the laws of Moses is not enough to be considered righteous before God.

An abstinent homosexual is STILL a homosexual with that kind of LUST in his heart that will send him to Hell! As for "modern translations", the KJV, published in 1611 talks vividly about the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah for their unrepentant ways. Granted, homosexuality wasn't the ONLY reason they were destroyed, but it was obviously rampant in their culture seeing as how the word "sodomy" traces it's roots to that place.

You had reference in Leviticus. God is speaking generally not specifically to man only. as long as it is homosexual. That is truly sin and an abomination to God. Before Christ until now only 3 letters can describe homosexuality which is a SIN. That's why God burned out Sodom and Gomorrah. Because God created only Man and Woman.

Pagans often worshipped their gods with the practice of temple prostitution. God didn't want to be worshipped that way; hence the injunction against men sleeping with men, and women prostituting themselves. I can't recall specific injunctions against the people who did do it,just the practice. He only says to "sin no more". I believe that my God has the capacity to forgive all sins, and in my humble opinion, homosexuality is one of the mildest sins a human could have. Homosexuals who abstain from the practice will undoubtedly find favor with God.

1Corinthians 6:9 Don’t you know that evil people will not receive God’s kingdom? Don’t be fooled. Those who commit sexual sins will not receive the kingdom. Neither will those who worship statues of gods or commit adultery. Neither will men who are prostitutes or who commit homosexual acts. 10 Neither will thieves or those who always want more and more. Neither will those who are often drunk or tell lies or cheat. People who live like that will not receive God’s kingdom. 11 SOME OF YOU USED TO DO THOSE THINGS. But your sins were washed away. You were made holy. You were made right with God. All of that was done in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

SOME OF YOU USED TO DO THOSE THINGS…

Original language: αρσενοκοιτης is the word at the end of verse 9. It is actually an explicit description of gay sex. Homosexual activity is among the things included in "sexual sins" earlier in the passage, but Paul chose to list several specific sexual sins. Corinth was known as a haven for all kinds of sexual perversions, and Paul tells us that some of the Christians there had been previously involved in them... BUT THEIR SINS WERE WASHED AWAY. THEY WERE MADE HOLY. THEY WERE MADE RIGHT WITH GOD.

The things that keep people out of the kingdom are ALL things they DO, NOT WHO THEY ARE. Notice, he writes "some of you USED TO..."

Go way back to the days of Abraham. The Lord destroyed the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah for that very reason.

In most passages in the New Testament where the word homosexual is used in English, the Greek words usually refer to various forms of sexual perversion, abuse or fornication, homo and heterosexual, and unfortunately some translators have opted to use one word instead of a whole phrase.

Why they opted to do this I don't know but it over simplifies the Greek words used!

Well remember that the bible had to pass through the catholic church in the dark ages before it got to where it is now. It also had to pass through several popes and George Bush Sr.
