The top three media players are in this order - Windows Media Player, Real Player and WinAmp. However, all three play both audio and visual formats. To be honest, Media Players use very little resource when playing audio it's the movie formats that do the draining. You should have Windows Media Player already installed, if not it's free from Microsoft's site. If you don't have Real Player, you can get it free from www.real.com It's highly likely that you will need Real Player if you access the Internet as Windows Media Player can not play .rar .ram etc. files. If you stream radio and music, you are likely to come across a .ogg format. For .ogg formats, you require WinAmp. Finally, for audio, it's not so much the resources it's the HDD space that you need to install the software.
