Well Rajesh the basic problem of Global warming is not because of grass root people but people like us who are wasting a lot, using our vehicles for every small thing and burning fossile fuel and like.

But, if you are interested in doing some work with grass root people you can:

1- Spread awareness on less use of fossile fuel.

2- Ask them to save our forests and trees.

3- Ask them to reuse things where ever possible.

4- Ask people to stop wasting.

5- Ask farmers to make minimum use of chemical inceticides and pesticides as well as chemical fertilisers.

6- Ask people to live a more sustainable life.

If the problem were to be addressed at grass roots level then the changes we would need to make in our lifestyles would be so dramatic that it would be like stepping back in time by 200 years - almost no power, communications, transportation etc.

In time we will probably come up with better technologies that produce less pollution but for now all we can do is slow down the consequences.

There are science based solutions that are being examined - removing pollution from the atmosphere, reducing the warming effect from sunlight etc but these are in their early stages.

Have a look at the answers provided in this question for things we can all do to help slow down global warming and look after the enviuronment - http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ApdScv5icpwad9xbiK5CZsnsy6IX?qid=20070808185736AAX4dAS&show=7#profile-info-AA11437636

Global warming, global warming, global warming.
The Bird Flu, Bird Flu, Bird Flu, Bird Flu. Y2K, Y2K, Y2K, Y2K, Y2K. On and on and on and on. It's just the latest scare tactic. The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof. God will take care of global warming. Just a tiny fraction of a change in the cloud cover and then---no more problem. Of, course, we should be good stewards of what God has given us, but to think that we can make a difference is the height of snobbery!

There certainly are things to do at the grass root level. Smoke more grass, preferably one of the modern genetically engineered super hallucinogenic super-grasses. That how the data supporting Glooble Warming is found.

Global warming is a big problem. Grass roots efforts are important and can help. They can't do it all.

We also need to develop and deploy new systems for making electricity and powering cars. Industry needs to conserve energy as well as individuals do.

There are roles for individuals, corporations, and governments. We need the work of all.

No, the people that preach the subject say it was created at a global level over decades if not centuries, so there is no way that schoolchildren or neighborhood activism can reverse something on that scale.
