First off, Christians, Jews, and/or Muslims cannot go to Hell. Hell is where Odin sends cowards and Vikings who die dishonorable deaths.
Christians, Jews, and/or Muslims who break Yahweh's sanity-challenged rules go to a place called Sheol, which is an eternal cavern, lightless and alone forever, eternally locked away from the so-called "light and love of God", damned in the knowledge that He has forevermore turned his back to you and turned a deaf ear to your pleas for mercy.
And your question is pointless anyway. Being a good person, or joining/staying with a particular religion just because you're afraid of punishment from some supreme father-figure totally nullifies any hope you could have for avoiding your eternal punishment, because your own propaganda says that he is all-knowing and omniscient. That means, he already knows that you don't really mean it, you just don't want a spanking that lasts forever.

Realize it doesn't exist.
You're invoking Pascal's wager:
"If god exists, it's infinitely better to believe, since you get heaven instead of hell for eternity. If he doesn't, it doesn't matter since you're dead anyway. So overall it's better to believe"
This is, of course, false.
Some of the problems with the argument:
* The implied assumption that god may exist (with a 50% probability, no less!)
* The assumption that there is an afterlife with a heaven and hell
* The assumption that the god cares about belief in him/her above all else
* The assumption that if you believe in a god, it will definitely be the same god that actually exists.
* The assumption that you lose nothing if it's false. You have lost a great deal, from time praying to a nonexistent entity (some people pray several hours a day!!!) to morality (your god may ask you to hurt other people) and much more besides.
* The assumption that people can believe in something simply because it benefits them. Would you believe goblins exist for twenty bucks? Why not?
* The assumption that any god won't see through the "believing just to get into heaven" ploy.

First you should understand where the word hell came from. It is translated from 3 different words. The first one is sheol, it means simply the grave. And the translated use of this word is used 99% of the time it is mentioned in the bible. The second is Gehenna. The ancient Greek phrase for the abode of the dead, synonymous with Gehenna. This is also a Jewish term which derived from a place in Jerusalem where garbage and unclaimed bodies were thrown in and burned. It virtually burned nonstop.
The third is Tartaroo. It is used only once to describe the place of restraint and punishment for demons.
In other words all of it is mistranslated but still all mythology.

The only way to avoid hell is to repent of your sins and accept Jesus as you Savior and Lord. He died on the cross to pay the penalty for the sins of the world so that all who place their faith in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Jesus had this to say about getting right with God.
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
And after Jesus' resurrection Peter had this to say about Him under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 4:12 "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved."

In the book of Revelations (Bible) it describe how terrible it is in eternal hell while Jesus will take you to Eternal Heaven where there is no more tears or crying. Eternal Heaven is made out of Gold, Diamonds, Rubin and other valuable stones. So try Jesus as your Saviour and Lord so that you will not go to hell where terror is forever.

no it's not. if muslims are saying that, they are only trying to get you to convert. the thing is, once you convert to islam, it's real hard to change back if you don't like it anymore. and did you hear about that muslim girl that was dating this catholic guy? her parents couldnt accept their relationship, so she had them killed. true story. do you think she will go to heaven, knowing that she killed her own parents? personally, i'd say stick to your religion. the religion you were taught to believe in.

There is such thing as destiny. Thus, there are three kinds of men on earth as follows: 1ST-THE DIVINE BEINGS INCARNATING AS SERVANTS OF GOD-THE PROPHETS AND SAINTS AND THEIR DISCIPLES who are the 1stborn among natural men or 1stborn to be adopted to the family of GOD or to the 1stborn family; and they belong to the spiritual gov't under THE HOLY SPIRIT; 2nd- the natural men and they all belong to the gov't of men or gov't of the beast (like savage) under the deceptions of satan but they are destined to be saved and finally will become sons of GOD and 3rd-the devil and demons incarnating as gamblinglords, crimelords, warlords, vicelords, prostitutionlords, moneylaunderinglords, armsdealerlords and the blasphemers of THE HOLY SPIRIT, etc as they are destined for perdition-to hell. That is their destiny as what is wrtten must be fulfilled.

why not dabble in every religion out there, then you have all of your bases covered. of course, you'll still go to hell that way. here's an idea! how about you live your life in a good way and live it to the fullest. when you die, then you can worry about the afterlife

It's a catch 22, if you think about it that way. If you're convinced that Hell is real, just dedicate yourself to one faith and ignore all the others. There's no real way to win if you put yourself in the situation you're in now.
