Well, in Spain they speak Castilian Spanish, which has a heavy accents that sounds almost like a lisp. South American countries have much easier accents to understand.

You said your learning the language spoken in Madrid,
Madrid is the capital of Spain ,therefore what more can i say?
The Latino American countries use different accents and words in general ,so if you really want to learn the real spanish go to Spain

The Spanish spoken in Spain is very different to the Spanish spoken in Latin America.

Think about it like the English spoken in the UK versus the English spoken in the USA.

It just depends on if you want to learn a dialect rooted in tradition and royalty or one that is more populist and ever evolving.

If that doesn't help you decide, I'd recommend that you travel to Spain. It's a wonderful country, lots to see and do, it's closer to home for you, plus you'll have a chance to visit the rest of Europe.

I think Spain is better, because we have the language more 'pure', so I mean that with Spanish of Spain everybody understand you, but sometimes in South America they use words and expressions which aren't correct at all in Spanish...

The Middle East i would think will more likely get a tourist trade from Spain rather then Latin America. I would think the dialect you'll get from Spain would be more of what you'll likely hear in Jordon

if you want to learn it from the root, go to spain, but if you want a more universal spanish, go to Mexico, because there are latin american countries that are still using the castilian in many ways. You can't go wrong with a good mexican spanish.

You do not go to a butcher for vegetables.
Spain of course and get a Spanish boyfriend, girls are OK but they tend to use local dialect too much, a bit like Scot, Irish, Welsh and Cockney women with English.

Spain is nice but i think you would be limited to one culture and one spanish. central and south america has many different cultures and different styles of spanish. the differences are subtle so dont worry. Not to mention the beaches and tropics in the americas. personally i would chose latin america.
