Because all the major religions now teach one god. period, It is ingrained in people because for 1800 years or so it was one god or death.

There are some that can easily fit in with each other, such as some of the multiple Christian denominations, but most of the religions around now days are simply not compatible. For a lot of the monotheistic religions their inherit teachings clash with each other. For Instance wither Jesus was a prophet, the son of god, a blasphemer, or simply doesn't matter at all for religious purposes.

Because their religions tell them to.
And most of them don't get the choice to pick a religion that doesn't, as what they have is firmly indoctrinated into them by their parents, and has been generation after generation since the days when christianity held the western world in its iron fist.

I actually go to many churches..One that gives Jesus the honor and respect.I feel since he told us to do this in memory of him I do all I can to remember that moment.. then go to others for bible study, Then another for praise and worship. ^^ Then one just for the donuts and coffee.. ummmm mmm dooooooooooonuuuuts
