Don't buy it. Look on the back of everything you put in your weekly shopping trolley and make sure it's healthy.

It's easy, it's called self control! I work in a donut shop, and yet, have managed to lose 15 pounds in the last two months. I eat a lot of good fruits and veggies, I bring my own lunch to work, so I am not tempted. I have lil candies, sugar free if you can, and also when I am at home, I snack on sunflower seeds, or more fruit. When I think about fatty food, I look down, and think hey, i don't want that in here! Maybe go take a run, or do some exercise routine when you think about that cheeseburger and french fries with a big old milkshake.

If you are going to a social event take your own appropriate food with you. It is very tempting to throw your restrictions aside to be part of the crowd and fit in. Pack up your own little meal and take it with you. Yes, you may feel embarrassed at first, but over time you will become more comfortable. You could also try eating a healthy meal at home before going to the event so that you won’t be hungry and then you can just skip the eating aspect of the event and enjoy the other aspects. or you could re-frame your thinking. For me it is simple to avoid unhealthy foods, because I simply do not desire to eat poison. I don’t want to do that to myself. So try to re-frame your thinking about the foods that you desire. Try to think of them as “poisons” instead of “delicious forbidden treats.”

I began to avoid junk food after I learned what is and isn't in them. There's a reason as to why they're called junk-- That's what's in them. Nothing natural, nothing healthy, just stuff created in a lab. I came to the conviction that I did not want that stuff in my body. Instead of appealing, it became disgusting. Loathsome. Even foods that claim to be healthy have stuff in them.
Also, for me, it's not a diet, but my life. I don't look at the junk food aversion as deprivation or punishment. Knowing what I'm doing to myself, and the environment as a whole, it's more of a gain, a reward.

Avoiding processed foods is the easiest way to steer clear of "unhealthy" foods. If it comes in a wrapper and has alpha-numerical ingredients, it's really not that good for you.
