Oh absolutely. God definitely created us with a broad purpose and we each individually have a purpose. Our basic purpose is to love God with all our hearts (which takes care of our spiritual side) and to love others as we love ourselves (which takes care of all other humans). If we really did treat others as we wanted to be treated, it would be a much happier, safer planet. Beyond that, I think our purpose is to touch our friends and family in whatever way that happens to be. I think one of my individual purposes is to help gay people understand that they can be Christians, they can be loved by God and have a relationship with Him despite the stumbling blocks anti-gay Christians put in front of us.

Where is the dilemma?
All three, to find God, to help others, and to find me, are connected. Try to love your neighbor as yourself and in doing so, seek God in prayer and in the Bible. Your experiences will show you things about the character of God, about others and about yourself.
Leo Tolstoy, the great Russian writer wrote a short story called "Where Love Is, There God is Also". It was a powerful influence on my life. You can find it on the internet at:

Charles Sheldon's, "In His Steps" is also a powerful book.
I hope this helps

My purpose was to be an RN and take care of people for many years in an ER. Now, my purpose is to pray for people and take care of their spiritual needs and to praise God.

I think if god put you here to find him he wouldn't have put you here without a way to find him. And if you where put here to help others he would have given you a way to... and if you where meant to find you, you wouldn't be chasing your tail. But, purposes are for us to decide in our own time.

I don't believe in a creation and I do believe the meaning of life is only what you are able to make it to be.
while you embark on your wild goose chase, responsible people are making the world in which we live a better place.
